Once she goes Mac, she will never go back. Get the 17" Macbook Pro. It is loaded and fast as hell.

doesn't she also do gallery submission? i would say that that would be a bit harder on a mac...there are no submission tools on macs that I know of

in fact, almost every mac friend I have also has a pc just because of the limited programs for adult webmasters on macs....stats checking, tgp tools, se tools etc...

don't get me wrong, I have no issue with mac or pc, I think they both are equal these days, but there are some things you just NEED a PC for in this biz

I can't believe in this day and age there is still a mac/pc debate, both are equally as good, but kick ass, both are equally as powerful

You can run windows on newer Macs.. Either inside OS X or you can boot in to Windows.

Macbook Pro, like others are saying you can load with Windows as well. The one and only thing I dislike about Macbook... is only one mouse button!!!! God, can't Apple get over that stupid little hump already?? They sell one button mice and their laptops have them as well, yet if you use a two button mouse and right click, it gives you a menu or options!!

Got a little carried away there, I like the new Macs, lol!!

You know if you put two fingers on the trackpad and click the button it counts as a right click , right?

Also, if you have "Tap for mouse click" turned on, tapping two fingers at the same time counts as a right mouse click.

Their "Mighty Mouse" is actually a 4 button mouse.. even though the top is solid and looks like one button you can right click, left click middle click and squeeze the sides for a 4th button. I dont think they have 1 button mice anymore, at all (thank god).

The mighty mouse is not a one button mouse. i can right click on mine and get the same options as if i was on a pc.

The Button That Wasn?t
Alas the fate of the one-button mouse in today?s multibutton world. Who has time for intuitive, elegant design when there is so much clicking to do? Thanks to a smooth top shell with touch-sensitive technology beneath, Mighty Mouse allows you to right click without a right button. Capacitive sensors under Mighty Mouse?s seamless top shell detect where your fingers are and predict your clicking intentions, so you don?t need two buttons ? just two fingers. Click on the left side to use Mighty Mouse in its simplest, single-button form. Click on the right to access contextual menus within applications and edit, copy, label or download from your mouse. It?s simple sleight of hand.

while I think that is AWESOME, has it been tested to fully work with all windows apps? seems too new to really jump into a mac because of it and expect to be happy

and with all the new vista shit coming out, how does parallels handle that?

Yep.. runs anything Windows can. The only exception I can think of would be 3d accelerated games.. although that is coming in future releases.

Parallels actually is a software simulated computer. As far as Windows is concerned, it thinks its actually running on its own native hardware. You can run and install apps just like in windows.. The latest versions have this cool feature too that hides your windows desktop and lets you run windows apps "detatched" so they appear right along side your mac apps on the desktop.

And yes, it runs Vista. Not sure about all the Aero effects though.
