Don't worry about those. They don't actually erase when you format C:

They'll be there after the format. Just ask AMP. He can help you.

if you use outlook just export the messages and address book as a .wab file and save it to disk

But what I WOULDN'T do if I were you, is a search on your HD for *.eml files. That SHOULDN'T lead you to a directory with all your email files. I hope it DOESN'T work for you.

using outlook? look for outlook.pst and archive*.pst, keep note of where they are, put them back in the same place, hope that works, i just learned that not too long ago, havn'e actually done it yet, let me know if it works

If it's outlook (or similar like eudora), and you didn't do any backups, you can kiss your emails goodbye

Hoax,

For Outlook Express the files are here:

windows\application Data\identities\(your identity)\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Copy save and restore after format. Hope this helps. I'm sure there is an easier way but I've never figured out the easy way in anything I do. Go figure.
