The ultimate Laptop. Anything better than this?

I'm looking to purchase the most powerful laptop out there. The Dell M2010 looks amazing. It's huge and weighs 18 pounds, but the size is not a big issue for me. It'll run me $4300 for a 20.1 inch screen, 2.33 GHZ, 2 GB Ram setup.

Is there anything better than this baby out there?

Thats a nice one, but kind of heavy....I like how Dells compares laptop weight to reams of paper....

that thing is huge, well has to be to fit a 20.1" screen
I don't think those are meant to be used on your lap hehehe
It's more a mini desktop than a laptop

I'd rather go with a "normal sized" laptop with about the same specs and save a good amount of money.
get a docking-station for it (so you don't need to (un)plug all cables each time), and hook it up to an external 20" or whatever LCD panel
that's how i'm doing it ...

Well, I well not be taking my laptop to starbucks everyday....it's going to hbe stationary most of the time, but once in a while I need to travel with it, so thats why I need a laptop instead of a desktop.

So my criteria is basically the most powerful laptp out there, thats what I am looking for.

So, anything better than that Dell?

Might want to look at Alienware. They have one with 1GB SLI video. Compare that with the 256 MB of the Dell. Also has 400GB of storage compared to 240 on the Dell. You are stuck with an AMD processor though and only 2GB of RAM.

Instead of Alienware, why not get a Sager:

I'm not 100%, but I think the Alienware is just a repackaged Sager. Compare the pics and they look like the same machine, except for the alienware paint job.

Dell is balls, you will definitely have problems with it. My friend has an alienware and it is really nice. They are expensive, but thery are really good. Check them out because there is no way you should be spending over $4000 on a Dell.

It's basically like a mobile office.. but be warned, I swear every single security checkpoint at every airport flags the thing as a bomb. Mine got fondled more than a $2 whore on welfare day.

The sad thing is, you pay that cost on the most powerful laptop, and in 3 months, there is a better one that is smaller, and weighs less, and costs less.

No I think of it more as a mobile workstation.. but I can have my ipphone on it, it has a built-in webcam etc, a lot of conveniences that make it a useful tool

I'll qualify it. I have one. I use it all the time. I love it ;) It's more than a nametag and a lot of weight, believe me. ;)
