The ultimate Laptop. Anything better than this?

I'm looking to purchase the most powerful laptop out there. The Dell M2010 looks amazing. It's huge and weighs 18 pounds, but the size is not a big issue for me. It'll run me $4300 for a 20.1 inch screen, 2.33 GHZ, 2 GB Ram setup.

Is there anything better than this baby out there?

PR_Sebas 01-21-2007 06:24 PM

damn, looks pretty nice... lucky you if you pick that up

sh33p 01-21-2007 06:25 PM

I've got a Dell laptop. It's being a real pain atm.

avalanche 01-21-2007 06:41 PM

Thats a nice one, but kind of heavy....I like how Dells compares laptop weight to reams of paper....

I couldnt help myself

Brujah 01-21-2007 06:51 PM

Why get a 20lb laptop instead of a desktop?

madawgz 01-21-2007 06:54 PM

thats a nice laptop

StuartD 01-21-2007 06:57 PM

LadyMischief from HomeGrown Video has one of those and loves it.

chupacabra 01-21-2007 07:10 PM

well, since thats a dell there is surely something better than that out there. i would hit up dynamism for the cutting edge friend..

VeriSexy 01-21-2007 07:19 PM

damn that's sexy

Viper2K1 01-21-2007 07:22 PM

that thing is huge, well has to be to fit a 20.1" screen
I don't think those are meant to be used on your lap hehehe
It's more a mini desktop than a laptop

I'd rather go with a "normal sized" laptop with about the same specs and save a good amount of money.
get a docking-station for it (so you don't need to (un)plug all cables each time), and hook it up to an external 20" or whatever LCD panel
that's how i'm doing it ...

pickandwatch 01-21-2007 07:23 PM

why would you even buy so heavy laptop?? useless

Well, I well not be taking my laptop to starbucks everyday....it's going to hbe stationary most of the time, but once in a while I need to travel with it, so thats why I need a laptop instead of a desktop.

So my criteria is basically the most powerful laptp out there, thats what I am looking for.

So, anything better than that Dell?

tony286 01-21-2007 07:36 PM

looks pretty rocking but 5 grand for that I can go to mac.

reynold 01-21-2007 07:47 PM

That looks very sleek.

MaxPac but be ready to pay. The best is always expensive.

Might want to look at Alienware. They have one with 1GB SLI video. Compare that with the 256 MB of the Dell. Also has 400GB of storage compared to 240 on the Dell. You are stuck with an AMD processor though and only 2GB of RAM.

aico 01-21-2007 09:27 PM

what's the point of it being a laptop?

That looks good....
Man, though decision now, which one is better, the Dell or Alienware.

borked 01-22-2007 11:44 AM

then just go for a powerful desktop and a mid-range laptop for the off-times you'll need to travel...

Klen 01-22-2007 11:47 AM

Try laptop from Koncar company.

Instead of Alienware, why not get a Sager:

I'm not 100%, but I think the Alienware is just a repackaged Sager. Compare the pics and they look like the same machine, except for the alienware paint job.

Mr. Romance 01-22-2007 12:02 PM

Wow I love how they make the screen higher..very pimp!

Dell is balls, you will definitely have problems with it. My friend has an alienware and it is really nice. They are expensive, but thery are really good. Check them out because there is no way you should be spending over $4000 on a Dell.

It's all I'd have expected and more from all the hype I read about it. (THANKS SPIKE!!)

It's basically like a mobile office.. but be warned, I swear every single security checkpoint at every airport flags the thing as a bomb. Mine got fondled more than a $2 whore on welfare day.

Paranoid_android 01-22-2007 12:22 PM

Ah nothign beets this man

the Fragbook for the win

tranza 01-22-2007 12:24 PM

18 pounds??????

Can that even be considered a laptop?

pornguy 01-22-2007 12:26 PM

The sad thing is, you pay that cost on the most powerful laptop, and in 3 months, there is a better one that is smaller, and weighs less, and costs less.

No I think of it more as a mobile workstation.. but I can have my ipphone on it, it has a built-in webcam etc, a lot of conveniences that make it a useful tool :)

I'll qualify it. I have one. I use it all the time. I love it ;) It's more than a nametag and a lot of weight, believe me. ;)

Redmanthatcould 01-22-2007 01:16 PM

It is very p-i-m-p from what I saw of it at the Homegrown party.

I started drooling and LadyM put me on timeout :party-smi

Kimmykim 01-22-2007 01:17 PM
