I am not knocking the company, just making an observation. It looks like they spend more money on things like prizes and conventions then companies like AFF. And I bet AFF makes about 50x more money then them. They spend a ton of money and seems like they have been like that for a while. I am sure their profit margin is not "THAT" much larger then the other adult companies here. They still have all the same expenses as everyone else.
It's not like you hear everyone saying i made a killing with pussycash, i don't hear them talked about that much more then any other site. I may be wrong but it seems very obvious that they had a big treasure chest to play with and they may still have peices of gold in it (well maybe not after this domain purchase. I think that is accurate with certain conditions.
1. Put $20,000 worth of development into the site?
2. Go mainstream
3. Advertise in women's mags.
For example:
- contact swim suit companies and get all the hot models pics they have wearing their product. And post them with headshots.
Have a $300 bikini contest everyweek from surfer submissions.
Hire an "agent" to try to get commericals, print ads, playboy spreads etc... for your models/contest winners. "I started my career on bikinipage.com" is what you want the models saying.
Got enough cash to start a print magazine? Do it!
Etc...etc...
When you think like that the domain takes on a whole new value.
Bikini Page is a good "brand" for a mag/website and that's the value that the big guys understand.
A company with a 10 million budget to launch is not going to settle for
"bikinipage2.com" or ".net" of "lookatsomebikinis.com" they will fork over some cash to get the name they need.
But of course most of us think about the value as "If I make a thumbnailed site of hosted galleries...how much can I make?". That's small thinking.Done.Comment
