| Hacking should be legal. If you don't know to protect your datas, or have a stupid admin then you deserve to be hacked&fucked, you ask for it. AntiHacking laws are a stupid way to protect yourself from smarter people. Just my |

but they are two different things. hacking is from the so called virtual world while the others not. Is that your excuse for not knowing how your computer works ? | |

I personally know how computers work, and am able to break into many servers without getting caught. I could also relatively easily create a hitbot that wouldn't get caught (and, because of this, I know there are most likely many people using hitbots that don't get caught), or a spam bot that wouldn't get me in trouble but that would bring in $$$. However, does that make it right? Screwing other people is screwing other people, and these people are not virtual people. They live real lives that can suffer real damage from "virtual" actions.

				 | Rep. Howard Berman, a California Democrat, said the measure was necessary because the decentralized systems were impossible to shut down. Stupid fuck.

				 | So if I have an insecure OS, that's my fault? It's impossible to be 100% hack-proof. Hackers have to find faults in systems before they can be patched. Hacking should be illegal. |

				 | This is a bad piece of legislation. However, those actions are already being done. Italian officials hacked/cracked into servers hosted in the US, owned Italian companies that contained "sacreligious" material, which is illegal in Italy. http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm...ews.technology FBI hacks/cracks/obtains permission to KP sites and keeps them up to capture the information of people who sign up. File sharing is next I guess. I bet it will be the FBI doing the cracking though, under the guise of p2p will allow anit-state activity in the new "cyber-squad" of Homeland defense. What's funny is that things like this are always outrageous... Until it is YOUR stuff that people are abusing/stealing/etc... Then you reach for anything at your disposal to stop that "asshole/s from ripping off my content/design/domain name/trademarks/ etc." People here quickly legitimise anything to stop abusers of THEIR material...

The money I make in that "virtual world" seems pretty real to me. There is no way this bill will fly...But if you have a court order for someone to stop a violation you should be able to shut them down. However sending a bailliff is usually the way to go. Anyone offshore who is violating your copyright is already outside the law...And these guys are generally hacked or img sourced anyways.

				 | You have to be careful that the hunters don't become the hunted You piss off some of these hacker groups, and you may find yourself on the wrong end of thier terror list What I don't understand is, it's been proven that during the time that napster was running ramped that music sales soared to an all time high. So are these recording industry guy's just being a group of greedy assholes, that are cutting off thier nose to spite the face ?? Got me, but is sure does seem like they should be thankfull that the music got out there, and that people liked what they heard enough to shell out the $15 bucks for the real CD. Tim |

				 | Most hackers follow the hackers ethic "dont damage anything"... They just want to learn more about how systems operate, thus expanding their knowledge of the digital world.. I say go for it as long as you aren't stealing personal/financial information, and aren't damaging or harming anything/anyone...
