This is a bad piece of legislation.

However, those actions are already being done.

Italian officials hacked/cracked into servers hosted in the US, owned Italian companies that contained "sacreligious" material, which is illegal in Italy.

FBI hacks/cracks/obtains permission to KP sites and keeps them up to capture the information of people who sign up.

File sharing is next I guess.

I bet it will be the FBI doing the cracking though, under the guise of p2p will allow anit-state activity in the new "cyber-squad" of Homeland defense.

What's funny is that things like this are always outrageous...

Until it is YOUR stuff that people are abusing/stealing/etc...
Then you reach for anything at your disposal to stop that "asshole/s from ripping off my content/design/domain name/trademarks/ etc."

People here quickly legitimise anything to stop abusers of THEIR material...
