:2cents The Wicker Man

So I just rented the DVD The Wicker Man and you know what, it was pretty good. The ending threw me for a loop since it's not what I expected at all.

I'm a big Nick Cage fan, how about you?

Going to watch the alt endings later tonight and see how those turn out. Very strange movie but worth the few bucks to rent.

Nicholas Cage plays the exact same role for every film. He does it well, though. Indeed.

Imho, everything got explained too much, made it a bit dumbening.

But when Cage started kicking and punching women, it was so unexpected and unseen that everyone started laughing in the theatre... that really made the movie worth seeing... end was also good and unexpected, but should have ended it with the burning wickerman scene... the club scene at the end kinda ruined it for me...

Loved the orginal, the remake is passable, not as bad as the critics and movie geeks make it sound, but not really that good either...entertaining for Nic Cage's over the top acting though...

Were we watching the same movie? 30 minutes into the movie i knew he was getting setup, was a huge dissapointment and i would recommend it to anyone

Actually, I watched the unrated version first without knowing it so it wasn't until later that night when I put in in again to see the so called alt ending that I found out that I had watched the good version first. The club scene was a bit goofy but after watching both versions it makes sense.

But yeah, really unexpected ending for sure, not what I thought would happen at all.

Yes, a thousand times better. If i was richer, I would pay you to see the original. Its absolutely awesome. The remake made me cry inside because of the people saying "wow this is such a good movie" when i was watching it with them, and it was so utterly crappish compared with the original.

Kinda like how i felt when i saw the american version of The Ring two days after seeing the original version and people were praising the american version.

Or when people were telling me what a fantaboulous masterpiece The Matrix was, philosophically, and that #2 and #3 was so much better than #1.
