Hosting = 50 cents. It's the average burn on each sign up.
Processing = 75 cents. Will be getting this down.
Content I own, program I own, design is used over and over again, set up will take a few hours. When the new CMS is up and running.
Profit is $3.75, which is what some people make from a paysite charging $30 and supporting affiliates.
Surfers join one and then come back and join another in a few weeks or they join the full site or they join one of the the sites I upsell from inside the site.
The plan is in the next few weeks to get the main paysite running on the new CMS. Then we will be launching one $5 site a day. We will be going with a few $2 sites and a few $10 sites.
We will build it to 100 sites, which was the original plan, that will be all fairly unique and have different content. With 800 videos this should not be a problem. Then we will start to mix the content a bit differently to widen the appeal. Say guys looking for "Big tit lesbian teens" site, rather than "Big tit" or "lesbian Teens".
Traffic was never a problem, the problem was getting enough sites up and running and the old CMS was built for a content store and could not do it. The new one will.
It's part of my future plans to offer the surfers more price options.Comment

As for the $5 sites well I have to be honest and say I still have not got them up. After 3 months of trying to make a CMS work I've given up and will be buying another one. Then we will try again to get the $5 porn sites up and running.

No we never launched one. I could see after launching the 5 sites that affiliates wouldn't send traffic to $5 sites. Maybe today they will. But back then it's obvious from the posts they didn't like the idea. Doubt if they will like it any more today.
Which brings up another discussion point. Did the industry form itself to satisfy customers needs or affiliates needs?
Certainly many thought throwing endless amounts of traffic at cheap content was the route to success. It worked up until Tubes changed the game.

The idea was to build a network of 100+ sites. The customers would buy another site when they felt the need to. $5 a time to download 10 videos. Sure customers, it would build trust with each sale, would love it and the BW is certainly affordable. Today even more so.

Your model was based on cheap non recurring sales. You wanted to charge $5 for 10 days non recurring. So an affiliate who did a good enough job to get a customer to pull their credit card out and use it, and the credit card actually worked, would only make $2.50 (at 50% revshare) per a signup. People can make more than that from just verified email addresses which is 1000x more easy to sell. So "today" affiliates wont send to this model. I can't see affiliates ever sending to this type of model with this pay structure. I don't think it's a mistake, or that because he failed that it'll never work, how much longer do you think you're going to get away with charging $30 a month for a porn site membership? Do you know how much $30 a month is? That's the price of cable TV or a broadband connection FFS. $30 a month is three Naughty America PPV videos through my cable company, whereas that same $30 will get me access to every Naughty America video through their website.
Of course, it doesn't help things that NA has a big "Sign Up For $7.95" link at the top of their tour, yet no $7.95 option on their join page.Comment
