What's the size of your home and how much is your electric bill?

Our current house is 3300SF, our electric bills are between $350 and $500 a month, depending on AC usage. We have gas stove/heat/hot water. Our previous house was only 1800SF and the same amount of money. We use between 5 and 10 computers, but only 3 or 4 monitors, which are off most of the time. I feel like we're missing something because other people we know in the same line of work, all say they're under $100 a month.

What's your home size and electric bill?

we have gas heat stove and Hot water too.

I make an effort to not have lights on in rooms that we are not in though.

Silly to spend my beer money on lighting in empty rooms LOL

Try to use CFL's for bulbs, and fill up your fridge and freezer. More efficient when full. Not sure what else you can do.

Oh, and dont leave your TV etc on "standby mode", turn them all the way OFF.. Standby mode very often uses nearly the same electricity as full 'on' mode.

Here in Panama, electricity is really weird. The rates depend on the neighborhood you live in.

I've got 1800 sq. ft. and I'm paying nearly over $400 /month. If I lived two miles away, my bill would be about $40 /month. But then again, I'd be in the ghetto and not in my comfy joint in the Jewish neighborhood.

i have a two bedroom townhouse. not entirely positive on the square footage. i would estimate prolly around 800.

in the winter my electric bill is pretty low. i have gas heat and keep the house pretty cold because i am basically a polar bear. it's usually only around 60 bucks a month.

in the summer though, when i have my AC set on like 60 degrees all the time, it is not uncommon for me to top $220 a month on electric.

I have 1400 sq ft (Condo) with in floor radiant heat.
One compter and 2 20.1" monitors are on all day, although the monitors are in sleep for most of the day.

The power was about 70 a month. Then I switched to LCD lights in most of the place (they are expensive, almost 40 a bulb) and now its about 35 a month. 45 in the summer because of the AC.
