Is it still that easy?
Say you had the money to invest to buy a great domain, an awesome profesional all around design, exlusive content, the whole nine basically. and of course traffic, would it all pay off in the long run if you could buy your self an exclusive pay site and manage it?
Just curious if it is still that easy, I mean in my opinion its not how long the site has been around, but rather what it has to offer...and if that something is good, why wouldnt people join. I need some sleep....my head is brain storming left and right today so what do you guys think? is it that easy to buy an exlusive paysite and make back the money in the long term as well as all that profit? Lets hear your ![]() sp0nix |

No. It is not that easy. You still have to focus on recruiting affiliates--not that easy since there's a gazillion programs out there. It did not get easier when many of the major CC processors made it easy to have affiliate webmaster programs tied in directly to their stats. You have to ask yourself--what is it about my program that will make it worth the typical webmaster's time to promote my sites? What tools or incentives can I give them to promote my sites? Do I view them merely as sales people for my site or do I build relationships with them to exchange ideas to mutual profit?
Then there is user retention. Pay per sign up is very expensive. Lots of webmasters are opting for partnerships. 50/50 is a start. At this margin level, you better retain or your webmasters will leave you. Its a tight balancing act between a) costs b) affiliate network c) user retention. It is HARD WORK keeping a balance and optimizing returns.
