:mad Observation: CCBill vs Verotel

I am not trying to create drama, first and foremost.

I am perfectly happy with both since they have took over all billing duties. CCBill the past few months, and Verotel since last year. Everything's been nice.

That said,.. why is it that CCBill can't send wires the Friday before the upcoming holidays like Verotel? Why is my mailed sponsor checks, and website wires held up the extra day for banks, and post office??

Just curious.

Christmas and New Years?

No. They are recognized by the Dutchies as well, and as such, they pay early.

Verotel offers Asian Cards, SMS, Debit Debit EU, check, and then the rest of the garb... VISA, MC, JB, Discover whatever.

In fairness,...

Verotel is the ONLY biller for my celeb site(s), and is first on the cascade for my other 4.

Most surfers (just like when iMonde was number one on the cascade) tend to pick the top one. Not always, but in my experience, that is the case. You will have some who pick out of loyalty, or past experience. But in general, the top one gets the bulk of the bills.

But as I said, this is not a bash CCBill thread. I am happy with them, as I am with Verotel. I was just curious was all, and hoping for some 'official' CCBill commentary.

of course, which planet do you live in?

however, unless you use the "tickets" option (which means your affiliate in fact is a Verotel hostage which will be bombed almost every single day with "offers" to other sites) you'll need quite a bunch of money to get an account. You'd measure the pros and cons, but regarding approval ratios, I'd say at least 20-30% higher than CCBill since they have plenty of options like SMS, shitloads of CCs, checks, you name it

I've never heard a single complaint from my members. So I am curious on this as well.

Question: If you have a site with members and you sell it, can you transfer those rebills to the new owner of the site?

CCbill?

Verotel?

Not that I am aware of. But I've never really investigated it.

I've went through billing company changes, but I normally have to e-mail them to get them to migrate. Losing about 20% in the first 90 days.

That is correct.

Hundreds of members. Never a single complaint. Been with Verotel since last year.

I am looking forward to find out that their ratio is better than ccbill's once I am finally able to implement their script.

But contrary to Ccbill, Verotel has very poor support. Their toll free number is answered speedily but hardly ever I get any concrete response to my situation. Just a polite "I am emailing you how to do that right now". Emails that never come. And I did pay for a PRO account... quite a bit I must say.

If you have a cookie cutter site with a simple join button and can live without too many stats or custom work, everything is pretty much straightforward and perhaps you will be thrilled with great joins. BUT if you have a more complex set up then you may be in trouble.

CCbill provided me with answers within minutes and customizing their script so that it operates correctly with my database took about an hour of programming. I am hoping Verotel can match this good side of CCbill. That will be perfect.

Please post if you know a fast way of hacking their RUM script. I need customer full name, full address and price paid posted back to my database.

So if you bill with CCbill, or Verotel and you want to sell you site, you have to cancel the rebills and email them to signup under the new owner?

I'll bet that hacking your processor's scripts is a great way to get your account terminated.

That's what _I_ did.

I have never asked CCBill, or Verotel about moving membership databases.

I am curious about this because I had seen a thread about someone that sold a site with ccbill, and all ccbill needed was paperwork to make it happen. I also saw a thread that said Verotel could not do this. If one can, and one can't that could be a consideration in the choice. If they both can't, then it wouldn't be.

Barefootsies, sorry I have hijacked your thread.

KK, Verotel allows users to modify their script within certain guidelines. All this is clearly stated within their RUM. In fact, they encourage it as long as you maintain certain aspects of the script intact. I used the word hacking as "modifying". Hacks => mods.

If you have never dealt with Verotel before just ask.
