IMPORTANT: Losing FireFox sales? FF Comment "bug" and CCBill JOIN forms!

Ran accross this "bug" in firefox awhile ago. Found it on some counters, either sexlist or sextracker. It appears that firefox has some sort of "bug" when it comes to comments. If you have dashes ----- inside the comment, it can fuck up some of the page..

Yesterday a friend showed me a ccbill join form that wasn't working in firefox. Had a look and it was because of this "bug".

CCBill - fix the forms you provide and let your customers know about this.

So if you have comments on your pages, DON'T put any -'s inside the comment other than what's requires.

Code:
<!-- ======== COMMENT OK =========== -->
<!-- -------- COMMENT BAD ---------- -->
Oh.. and I don't know if it's version specific.

it may be an issue specific to that particular form, my guess is that its a custom form, i would suggest that your friend gets that form over to client support so that they can troubleshoot it.

You're right.. Just tested and it may depend on the DOC type.. i.e. I added this standard doc type to the forms supplied from ccbill and the error occurs. But without this doc type they're fine.

Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

we had W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN on the page, and had some people that said the button didn't do anything when clicked.

removed the -'s that aren't needed, let's see how it goes now

Yep.. that's exactly what happens.. clicking on the form buttons does nothing.. it can also having things appear in weird places. Hope that works out for you.
