Then there is bluff, double-bluff, corroborative evidence by witnesses as to Mr Cohen's location at that time (and their reliability) - and the possibility Mr Cohen had "friends" who wanted to see him back in jail, or, Mr Cortes had possible problems with his clients (other than Mr Cohen).

The world is indeed a mystery :) Coincidental things happen, tho the chance your lawyer, wife, friends could coincidentally be shot on the day of a prison release is... well, fishy :)

Correct - during 2005 she was convicted in.. think San Diego, and given 10 months. Can't remember the exact detail, but think her arrest led to the eventual capture of Cohen in Mexico when he tried to update his work permit.

There are so many corps and "side businesses" involved and Cohen has went thru plenty lawyers where they/he have decided to terminate their involvement. His daughter is involved with some of these corps.

Smooth talking Dad appears to avoid smooth talking when it comes to the corps and bank accounts - he's keeping his mouth shut. Cohen may be crooked, but he's quite bright (possibly to the borderline of insanity - who knows?) tho doubt he can shut up and stay out of the headlines for long. He'll be wanting to buy the Whitehouse next and turn it into a brothel :pimp

Sure is a colorful scenario and spread over several jurisdictions and involving shrimp farming, offshore front companies, strip joints, foreign bank accounts etc - hell, it's all about the money :)

With that pot boiling, anything can happen from the sidelines - and appears the attempted murder of the lawyer is yet another extension of the saga, - tho there is a remote chance it is unrelated - maybe.

Sheesh... just going thru Stephen Michael Cohen's history - it started decades before the sex.com stuff and he's very well known to US Marshals and the FBI. He's done almost everything (maybe excluding impersonating the President :) ) - car theft, claimed to work for the CIA (and the reason he "had" to make numerous trips to South America with drug dealers), forgery, grand theft, passing bad checks, bankruptcy frauds, claimed to be an admiral with a West Point background also a lawyer practicing at the California bar and even managed to impersonate a judge for several years - and kept letting people off with offenses :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

He's been sued and arrested more often than he's ever had breakfasts, had at least five passports, a number of different drivers licenses, several private investigators licenses..... damn, this goes on and on - too silly :1orglaugh

Can somebody lock him up soon - for his own and the protection of the public :winkwink:

Only a gutty feeling, but agree and doubt it. It's not in his modus operandi so far, tho he has assaulted people, but suspect he's too bright to attempt to murder his lawyer, or, on his mind games to leave the impression that it's too absurd.

It's wide open on possibilities till there is an investigation. Cortes is not exactly a saint in Mexico. Cohen has plenty enemies - and "good friends" who are crooks. Stuff has been happening in the background while Cohen was incarcerated. People get greedy when the bank manager goes on holiday and leaves the safe keys behind. It could be others lining Cohen up for a fall - the possibilities are endless.

Tho, somehow smell this is going to be just as colorful as Cohen's life - even tho he may not be involved directly :winkwink:

SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Stephen Michael Cohen, the man who hijacked Sex.com from Gary Kremen, was released from prison Dec. 5, XBIZ has confirmed. According to court documents, Judge James Ware of U.S. District Court in San Jose, Calif., granted Cohen?s release.

Former Sex.com owner Kremen, says Cohen was released because he persuaded the court he could not substantially gather financial records while incarcerated.

Pigs might fly. Cohen has no family "ties" in the US. His own family don't want to see him. His string of ex-wives wish they had never seen him. The majority of his children only remember Dad failing to pay child support and now prefer to live their own lives in peace.

Odds on are that Cohen is once again a free man to travel the globe and play his ego, living a comfortable lifestyle. A warrant gets issued for his arrest from the US? So what? That's the last of Cohen's concerns - he's had more warrants for arrest issued than the numbers of millions he has in bank accounts and laundered.

OK.. there are games going on here - not just on Cohen's side. Let's hope these games are fruitful and there is closure to this stupid saga :)

The documentary done by Channel 4 in the UK a few years back was really well done (and has Jstyles and KB in it).

It all just shows that the wild west period had its victims and still does.
