CelebrityCash.com is excellent.

You should definately add their new feeds.
There are celebrity gossip, scandals, stripped and famous, birthdays, top celebs and more.

The feeds have been working great for a lot of affiliates.

I am in their backend right now and am trying to grab their rss feeds, but I went to their rss feed page and can't seem to find an rss url

all they give me is some script that looks like this

They offer RSS type of feeds for their bigger affiliates since they don't want anyone redirecting their feeds to other sites. Something that is very easy to do with RSS.

oh, so I wouldn't be able to use their actual rss feeds unless I sent sales? the only way I send sales is with rss

So far they have made me personal banners, fullpage ads and more when I asked them about it.

I would much rather have sponsors that have rss feeds already in use, when someone makes you something special, something as complicated as an rss feed, it won't be done as well.....when it is something made for the affiliate base as a whole it is done right.

I asked the programmer of the CelebrityCash.com feeds, what is the difference between RSS, XML and JavaScript.

Here was his response

XML is a syntax concept and protocol. RSS is one such protocol defined w/ XML, defined in an RFC standard. The javascript delivery method, though I haven't seen it offered, is sorta like how we offer our feeds. It isn't RSS by any way shape or form, but it's the same 'effect' of providing data to webmasters. The big difference is, of course, that it must be provided in a static layout. A lot of feeds, such as ours, allow customizations, some even way more so (ala Google AdWords). But in reality it is not RSS at all.

He also said that the concern about making CelebrityCash.com feeds as and XML based RSS feed is that an RSS/XML feed can be changed so that traffic can be sent somewhere else instead of back to CelebrityCash.com.

Since Celebrity Cash is delivering content ie: Pictures, videos etc... this can't be done by using the feeds they way they are now.
Once they establish a trust factor with an affiliate, then they can make them available as a true RSS XML feed.

We are considering delivering some of the feeds via actual RSS though I can't give you a commitment to that yet. Using full XML / RSS would limit how creative we could allow webmasters to be in configuring and customizing the feeds. Right now, all of our feeds are really customizable. You will have to login into celebritycash.com and test them out to really get a good feel for them.

Currently we are working with methods to implement the feeds into blogs. We have affiliates doing so in blogs they host themselves but, not on 'hosted' blogs.

A site under development now it EasyHollywood.com which uses word press. At http://easyhollywood.com/celebrity-news/ you will see our news / gossip feed in WordPress.

Yes, that is correct. CelebrityCash.com and XXXcash.com have the same sites in both programs. Eventually the celebrity sites will only be available in CelebrityCash.com however users logged into XXXcash.com will be able to access the stats at celebritycash.com with one click.

I was going in to grab some of the rss feeds you all have and noticed....well...they aren't all that great

nothing in the post is linked, in fact there are no links at all and the picture is way too small

did you all intend to do it this way, or is this an oversight?

I am seeing that the title of each post is linked, but the issue with that is, when I use the rss and import it into wordpress, your title becomes my permalink...so, even if you link the title, the title become my blog post title and the hyperlink you all used goes away

if you all need any help or advice, just let me know

It would be really nice if you all had a feed that maybe pulled some sort of bio blurb about the actress, because one single line of text that is about 2-3 words is just not enough, and the pics you all have are insanely small

the skinternational feed is GREAT, aside from the pic of course and also that there are no affiliate links in the actual feed itself.

The problem with the javascript feeds are they provide no SEO benefits either. True RSS feeds can be imported into almost anything, not just blogs and if setup right can be customized by the webmaster with CSS. You shouldn't be paranoid that a webmaster will use it and change it to promote another site. The benefits of releasing RSS feeds far outweigh any abuses in my opinion.

I started using the Java Script feeds from CelebrityCash.com and I love them. Sometimes the way companies use their RSS makes them difficult to work with. I am really looking forward to the RSS feeds from Celebritycash. I just hope they are as good and easy to configure as their Java Script version.

Since this post there was an update to the RSS feeds to put more links into the body of the posts. JACE has been quite helpful in showing us some of the initial issues with out Feeds, so hopefully we are a step closer to greatness. We still are working on larger headshots and also more of a news based feed as well.

I clicked the link and I saw the image tag for the headshot. Maybe your not parsing that part of the xml.

I appreciate you taking the time to try our feeds out. I spoke with our programmer who created the RSS version of our feeds and he said that most likely you will have to create a parser for the images.

We have two versions of the RSS, a formatted version and a Raw RSS version. My programmer explained why he chose to do the Java Script version first because any webmaster could very easily get it up and working. The RSS version is for more advanced webmasters like your self. Depending on your server etc? you may have to write additional code to parse all of the RSS feed.

We had another programmer who used PHP to parse it and he had it up and running within a few minutes, and this is what he wrote.

This is a quick and dirty script I wrote (there are better ways to it).

First you have to edit it with a simple text editor to change the RSS url. It's within the first line of code.

If you put it on a php page, you just include it with this code:

Or If you wanna include it with SSI (server side includes) in an shtml (or html) file, you can use this code:
<!--#include virtual="feed.php" -->
And you need to make sure your server has SSI support enabled.
