The BCS is fucked. ( football thread, real football not that kicking round ball shit)

One of the Harris Poll voters put Florida at #1 spot. That is fucked up.

Quote:
Who's unpopular in the Michigan area right now? Former Washington State coach Jim Walden, the one member of the Harris BCS poll who voted Florida No. 1 in the country and one of the reasons the Gators are playing Ohio State in the BCS "title" game rather than Michigan. Walden is hardly alone in his questionable decision-making -- Louisville seems unusually high in a few ballots -- but he's the only one who put Florida No. 1. It's odd, too, because earlier this year he vowed he wouldn't make a decision like that.

"You're never going to get me to vote for one team ahead of a team that's only lost to the best team in the country," Walden said.

Another idiot voted for Florida because he said Florida's only loss was to LSU. Which is not true Florida lost to Auburn.

Where do they get these monkies from to vote.

We need a playoff system. Use the BCS to determine the top 8 teams. The use the existing 4 BCS main bowls to play the first round of games. Play them before christmas, then new years play 2 games to get it down to 2 final teams. Week later play the BCS championship game. Keep all the other bowls the same as they are now. nothing else has to change. Need to take at least the top 8 and give them a chance to play each other to determine who is number one. Not these monkies who are casting ballets.

I'm laffing hard at Michigan. Though I despise them, I still feel kinda bad. Oh well, you didn't win your conference, Florida did. I am looking forward to us buttfucking Florida in the bowl game.

I am still waiting for a Michigan fan to plead their case...... They say they were robbed but I have yet to figure out how they were robbed??? Does loosing to #1 make you #2? I don't think so. IMHO they left Michigan at #3 in case USC and the Gators were to loose just as a nice gesture lol. Really though who did Michigan beat this year that makes you believe they should be #2?

I am all about having a playoff system but come on stop the whining unless you have a case to plead and stats to back it up.

Go Gators SEC CHAMPS (Note the Gators won their conference, and a tough conference it always is).

And two voters voted Florida #5. One of those voters had Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin 1, 2, 3 in his poll. Big 10 bias? Overall, I believe there were only 6 voters in the Harris poll who did not vote Florida/Michigan 2 or 3. The Harris poll has not exactly been a cash cow in sports IQ either. There are a few recognizable names in the group, but most of the voters are journalists just like the AP poll. They even have some CEO's of companies, like McCormick (the spice company).

The coaches poll had everyone voting Florida/Michigan 2 or 3.

I do not agree with the whole opinion polling for a national championship game either. It taints the title. Yet, the reason they have so many voters is to lessen the impact of the idiot voters.

Its fucked up. I don't mind idiots voting to determine the final teams for a playoff system but they shouldnt be voting for the national championship. yes is most cases their vote gets it down to the final 2 and those 2 teams play to see who the winner is. However, even that is not always the case. Look what the fucking AP morons did back in 2003 to LSU by bucking the system and voting USC as the national champions.

These fuckers should not have this power . Let them do their voting to get it to a final 8 or 12 and then let the teams fucking play and remove any doubt who is the best.

Jay Culter.

Think back and try to remember that name. He was the starting QB for Vanderbilt last year and a first round draft pick. Anyway, he's going to make his first NFL start for the Denver Broncos this upcoming week.

Vanderbilt had to replace their record-setting senior QB with a sophomore QB with less than 10 plays of experiences the previous year, on the first game of the season against Michigan. Over the year, they progressed on offense and played Florida after it's brutal stretch run of LSU, Auburn & Georgia. It was Vandy's 10th game of the season.

All I'm saying is, the games aren't comparable.

The BCS is fucked up. A real playoff is the way to go but they added an extra bowl game this year.

Why not make that a plus 1 game with all of the bowls played as usual and the participants of the new game picked after the other bowls were played?

Whoever's left after the bowls would play for the championship in the new bowl.

If anyone has a right to bitch it would be Boise State. They would probably get their ass handed to them, but they are the only other undefeated team besides Ohio State.

I'd love a playoff system, it could generate alot of money and if planned right you would still have most of your bowl games. The NCAA overall is a fucking crooked organization.

Actually the big 10 had a good year.

#1 OSU 12-0
#3 Michigan 11-1
#6 Wisconsin 11-1

The rest of the teams in the Big 10 didnt do much though.

SEC
#2 Florida 12-1
#4 LSU 10-2
#10 Auburn 10-2
#13 Arkansas 10-3
#17 Tennessee 9-3

The SEC almost always has 5 teams in the top 25. Sometimes 6.

SEC is by far the hardest conference. Look at LSU, they played 4 AWAY games against top 8 teams. The won 2, lost 2. The SEC always beats up each other.

I still think it should have been Michigan even though I am a SEC fan.
