So , I normally keep my mouth shut, and I've been reading a lot of these zango threads and I can't believe what I read.

lars pretty much thinks he can raise the payout and we'll all just shut up and move on.

The thing is this has been going on for YEARS and no one really put it all together until recently

Last February I was highjacked by some sort of spyware and guess who's pop ups I was getting ? That's right .. AFF and Cams.com

So we've got all these threads , and Lars doesn't seem to give a flyin' fuck about his affiliates, Perhaps because he doesn't see the effects, or the pages pulling his links, All he sees is the bottom line

Perhaps we should all post the pages that we've removed any of his programs from so he can see the effects first hand

I was pushing very little traffic to his programs , it doesn't matter .. the point is I'm NOT flying those banners on my site anymore and will not until something is done or changes ( which we know won't happen )

I deal with webmasters and I won't suggest these programs to them anymore.

Until last night www.twistedbydesigns.com had AFF and CAMS.com featured on it's Cash programs page , 404 pages , and right side bar

I've removed them all pages and urge other webmasters suggesting this shady program to their clients or surfers to do the same.
As far as I know the other programs and new ones I have listed do not support Zango advertising nor do they buy their traffic directly as lars has publicly admitted , If I find out otherwise I will immediatly pull those links as well

We can't take out zango .. we can't take out AFF or Cams orwhatever other sponsor .. but we can pull our fucking links

I switched my AFF ads to Fling, doing great btw.. but I dont know what to do with my Cams.com stuff, I'm using the co-brand, so it's tough to just up and switch that.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my sites after 3 years mostly on auto-pilot and I'm removing links to known scumware supporters (whether as customers or by accepting affiliates who are) as I go.

My dilemma is that populating 20-odd sites with not only promos, but also content (galleries), makes it impractical to think in terms of only a half-dozen sponsors. I really don't want have to "clean" all my links repeatedly if new offenders are revealed, so it is encouraging to see more sponsors speaking up recently. But there are many who still on the sidelines, so I hope everyone keeps up the pressure and encourage more to speak out.

jayeff, that sad part is that many companies either play close to the line themselves or allow their affiliates to blatantly cross it without issue.

It is almost easier just to infect a machine with Zango (notice I don't say install... infection is the right way to look at it) and surf your sponsor's stuff, and surf other stuff. Watch what pops up, watch who is getting hit, and work from there.

The wide-eyed innocent bit was to allow me to (politely) make the point that if their silence is a sign, pathetically few sponsors apparently do ban scumware. After all, there couldn't be a better time than right now to score a few brownie points by stating such positions, so one has to assume the worst from their reluctance to do so.

That said, it is only a matter of time before affiliates (at least) start buying keywords for presently unaffected sponsors, if they think they can do so with impunity. Therefore I really would rather work with sponsors who have taken a public stance than merely see who is "clean" so far.

How much? Running your mouth about how much you made with AFF I am curious what you consider more money then I can fathum. I would be surpised if you made more from AFF last year then I did from clickcash.

He paid you money because you earned it, not out of the goodness of his heart.
AFF is and frequently has done things other major companies wouldn't do.
Putting up a zango blocker only stops someone else making money: it does nothing to protect your income.

Rationalize away, but the reality is that although maybe you could pull AFF's links quickly, you have focused on them to such an extent that your income would take a major hit while you learned to promote someone else as effectively. While you are sneering at everyone else, spare a second to reflect that is a situation in which no competent businessman would ever have placed himself.

Just because I haven't seen any others mentioned, what other larger companies are doing this?

And telling people they need to put Zango blockers up is like telling people they have to lock their doors or they deserve to be stolen from.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but again, I am curious as to the other larger companies doing this. From what I've seen, many have come here and said they DON'T do this. Now, some of them may and probably are sending traffic on the backend to AFF/cams and ergo playing innocent by making money off it at the same time - is that what you're talking about?
