Power is fine reynold... Doubt yesterday's shakeup caused any damage - it wasn't severe.

Most noticeable time I never knew it was a shaker

Was on a Carribbean island at about 2am, working in the office part of the house. Could hear a train in the backgroud, and never paid attention. The sound of the train got louder, - then thought - there are no trains

Then the place started to move... watched the walls sway for a bit wondering when the first cracks would start - it was getting worse, so headed straight into the gardens.

The power of earth movement is awesome - the center of that tremor was 30 miles off the coast and around 30 miles under the ocean.

exactly. That shockwave noise...it's like a huge stone is rolling over. I developed a sort of sensitivity to earthquakes, I realize from the first second it starts.

Never been in a shaker scenario where there was real damage Martin - suppose if that was the preamble, the real thing has got to be a stunner. Still amazed that the damaged caused to homes etc is so very minimal. The constuction techniques are prob relevant - our place on the island is built on a concrete slab, so the house kinda "floats" on the concrete foundation when there is earth movement.

The main possible problem in the Caribbean and Gulf area are hurricanes - far more than earth tremors. Ain't life one big adventure?
