I haven't seen Will say anything about trying to get people to join ifriends. I see where you're coming from, and I think that if Ifriends is found to be doing the same thing AFF is doing, Will should drop them and start promoting someone else as a matter of principle. However, I dont think its fair to just assume that he's speaking out against AFF to lure people to join ifriends.

Let's be honest, AFF is the sponsor of choice for all types of shady sites on the internet. I've personally seen their ads on warez sites, torrent sites, password trading sites, etc. It shouldnt be surprising to anyone that they would also be into adware popups.

If I recall correctly, Will was making posts about ZANGO until he noticed that AFF and Sexsearch were the two most common sponsors he was seeing pop up. Then, and only then, were any sponsors singled out.

I posted that as a USER pissed off about spyware on one of my PC's at my office. I later wipped the harddrive and reformatted. The popups would come at random times to random shit, mostly mainstream. I was looking at if from the stand point of a computer user not a webmaster. I even said in that thread, I don't understand how people make money from these popups when they piss so many people off.

Fast forward to October 2006. I get zango on my PC. People don't realize it is poping up. They click My link and the zango page comes up, most people think that is what they were clicking for. Most people users don't even know it is happening. I see this happening on my URLS, now I start thinking as webmaster who now understand how this is not good for my business. I start posting here.

What a lot of people don't realize is that the people who are dumb enough to install (aka get infected) with Zango are also the people that are too dumb to realize that they can get all the porn they want for free through p2p, torrents, ect. We are loosing are best customers if zango gets to them first.

With the continued growth of torrent sites, p2p networks, and the likes of Zango where will our industry be in a few years?

I think if Will took the time to improve his business instead of posting on GFY and researching Zango he would make more money. So the only reason I am left with is Will doesn't want to have people steal his hard earned traffic, and is willing to complain (and in some peoples opinion make an ass out of himself) in order to keep making money in this industry while still having morals and honesty.

The real sheep are the ones who let people steal from them and then laugh in their face.

that is 100% true and thank you for noticing. I am losing money on time i am spending on this. That is true. I am not making any money from what I am doing I am trying to protect my income. When I found about this the first person I went to was my sponsor, clickcash and discussed this with them. Then i came here to educate everyone else.

I just can not get over someone taking traffic from us and causing us to lose income and try to justify it. Lars has used every excuse in the book.

- Sex Search made me do it.
- It's just a pop up.
- It is legal.
- It is only a small amount of traffic.
- It's too expensive to sue and protect our trademark.

I can name 20 more he has said and point out the threads.

So when all of that fails he starts attacking my reason for posting.

- I am jealous of him.

- I am trying to hurt his company
- I am trying to make affiliate sales
- I don't make any money and I lied about my income
- I am just trying to pump up my board persona.

Sorry, yet to be proven, At this point, I wouldn't put it past certain people to pay for an ifriends popup on zango just long enough to get a screen shot.

The proof would be in some sort of longer term "every one can see it" situation. Heck, I could buy a popup of GFY over oprano... would that mean that GFY is supporting adware?

Finally, while all this pointing and laughing at will might make everyone feel better, it doesn't change what AFF has done or may be continuing to do. The "see, everyone else is doing it" excuse is seriously weak shit.

I am an asshole for not getting back to people and there are probably dozens of people who contacted me for help the last year and I have been so set back with the hurricane and trying to keep my stuff going plus a lot of off line business i am into ( that code for watching tv and drinking beer lars since you know i am broke and just pumping myself up ) Now on top of all my own businesses that I need to maintain I am spending a lot of time on this stuff.

Again I am truely sorry for the people I have not gotten back to who have contacted me about TCC over the last year (post Katrina).

Pretty much blows up the whole bull shit allogations that I am here trying to get affiliate to signup under me when i turn them away

So... if zango collected 50 million, how much do you think the people made off of what they paid zango 50 million for, 75 million, 100 million ???? do you think that is a substantial amount of money, almost all of that money would have been made by affiliates if zango didn't pop up over their traffic. think about it. that was 2004 what do you think they are doign in 2006. AFF's pop ups are EVERYWHERE with zango, how much do you think they are making... ?

think about it... am i over hyping it? or are you a sheep and didn't look into this like you claimed to have.

I'm not a gay homosexual but let me see if I can get this straight. Will says that if AFF stops taking traffic from Zango it will have a huge impact and help make Zango go away. Yet HE, someone that controls a LARGE part of iFriends' traffic, won't stop sending traffic to iFriends in order to make them stop taking the Zango traffic.

sad thing is others now are looking at this as a new buisness model. You have started at least 3 new adware companies in the last month, congrats.
