Pc problem can anyone help?

Hi all a friend of mine his moniter stoped working so he got a new one but i think it is fairly old.

The wierd thing is when he loads windows it gets to the splash screen and then the moniter goes into amber light (standby - no feed mode) but in windows safe mode it will work fine is there anyway to get it working in normal mode?

thanks

karl

Its probably set to a resolution or refresh rate his new monitor can't handle... or has bad drivers installed.

It is probably his screen resolution and the older monitor won't handle that resolution. You can't change screen resolution in safemode I'm pretty sure.
