Actually nothing hot here but most of you wouldn't click here if I called this thread for example "IP forwarding question" So, I'm sorry If you are disappointed but I need some help.

I'm getting really mad trying to understand how to do that lol.(Maybe I don't understand something or miss something) Can someone give me a bit of advice how do I make my domain or subdomain (prefered) point to this IP number?

(btw I use godaddy)

lol.. it seems to be very hard to do popular thread name. I should better use Borat or Zango word for that. Anyway, I have already figured out by my self that I need Wildcard DNS and that Godaddy do not support this option... what a pitty

1. ok, you registered a domain name say at namecheap.com (the registrar)
2. you have a place to host this domain name (webhost)

your webhost gives you a DNS server(s) where you shuold point your domain name to, so basically you should be able to find your host's DNS servers on their website (or contact them)
Nameservers look something like this:
n1.myhostname.com
n2.myhostname.com
or they can be given to you as IP addresses (rare)

Once you've found out what your host's name servers are, log into the registar where you registered your domain and look for "set DNS" or something simliar, and then you enter the nameservers and click OK I guess. And then wait. And by wait I mean you will have to wait from a few hours to up to 24 hours (altough much faster now than before) for the domain name to actually "work"

Actually I mean something else, but thank you

I was about pointing (not redirecting) subdomains to specific IPs (not my server IP where I host main domain) I found out that it is possible with "Wildcard DNS" (some domain services support this option some not) there is also mentioned something about modifying zones informations in zone file on server but its too complicated way for me. So I will simply use host sumary in domain info and point my main domain to this IP but it's a pity I can't do it on subdomain on godaddy...
