Hey dude, as long as they are selling for 1200-1400 on fleabay is all I care about. It's just really strange that it's out a year later than Xbox 360 and it appears to have much fewer rendering capabilities... Jesus christ Sony, how you have fallen.

I might be the only one here...

but I think the PS3 actually looks way more realistic.

The sailboat is also way more difficult to render than the cruiseliner.

The building looks more real, the clouds are way better, the colors in general are way nicer.

I hope that's just a case of Ridge Racer having screwed the pooch and not completing a lot of stuff.

The graphics in both those games suck ass. Better to compare something like Gears of War to Resistance:Fall of Man to get a better idea of each console's capabilities. They can both put out very nice graphics. Namco always spits out a couple turds on the launch of any new system.

Because the game everyone is comparing here is a piece of crap that was rushed to launch for the release of both machines, and has never been a graphical standout on any system, except maybe on the PS1.

Namco is notorious for churning out these Ridge Racer games to make the first day of launch of almost every major console. It's like trying to compare the power of two of the latest graphics card on a PC based on playing minesweeper.

The games I showed prove both systems are capable of similar graphical effects and quality.

Saying one system sucks and the other doesn't based on those Ridge Racer screenshots is just plain silly.

I have had two 360's and both of them are pretty loud when running. You can hear the fans etc spinning pretty fast. I guess you wouldn't hear it if you got porn on in the background

I'd have to see the picture moving to make a decision. Still frames don't do justice. Kick-ass looking but choppy is worse than slightly less impressive looking and kicking out those FPS's.

Well considering development hasn't been going too long for the PS3 compared to the XBOX360 some games are going to look shoddy first off... Compare games in another year and you'll see a drastic improvement...

Most people spending $600 on a PS3 are die hard gamers or have $600 for a video game system so it doesn't matter. I will eventually pick one up, along with a Nintendo Wii.

I woulda talk about the price too much considering you get a Blue Ray player with the PS3 and 60 gig HD, compared to a 360 with 20 gig HD for $400, or you can purchase a $200 HD-DVD player for the 360 that brings its total to $600 also.

I agree with the others about the game. Perhaps someone should check out a Call Of Duty 3 comparison and see.

I guess that one advantage that the Xbox360 has is that the developers have had an extra year to work with the devoping of the games to know how to develop for it whereas the PS3 is all new to them.

I myself have 2 Xbox360s in my house and with the scarcity of the PS3, I was forced to hit up Ebay a couple of weeks ago to buy a PS3, so I'll give you my review on it once it gets here

What about the strange fact that in the XBOX version there is _NO_ sailboat but there is one in the ps3?

What about the fact that the trees visible under/left of the bridge are much more detailed and that there are more of them in the PS3 than in the XBOX?

Its obvious that the two are based on different versions of the same game. How can you even begin to compare those?!

This would be a good game to compare. The rumour I heard was that while the 360 version was running smooth at 60 FPS, the PS3 version was going to be released at 30 FPS. If that turns out to be the case then it could very well be that the PS3 is a lot harder to program for, at least when they are trying to do ports of these multiplatform games.

wow.. i can't believe that. I was thinking the same thing with the game creator crapping out on the graphics for ps3, but the gears of war game looks SO much better than Resistance:Fall of Man. Like generations different. I also really looking forward to assassins creed

The 360 has xbox live which alone BY FAR outweighs anything the PS3 offers.

If you just HAVE to run out and buy something new, go for the Nintendo Wii. At least there's something revolutionary about the wii. The PS3 is the same garbage Sony has been making for years.

I'm not much of a Sony fan but PS3 is going to have some hell good games coming up like the new Metal Gear and Final Fantasy... Thats what seperates XBOX to PS3... Anyways I'll be getting a Wii...

I absolutely loathe Sony. I bash them every chance I get. Yes, I own a PS2 and a PSP. They collect dust while I play my 360 and Nintendo DS almost daily. Even if you don't want to play online, the 360 is still a much better console...especially considering it will cost you about half as much to play.

By the way, why don't you play online? Games get a little old after you've played through them a couple of times. A lot of games are absolute garbage in single player mode but offer some of the best multiplayer gaming available on a console (Battlefield 2: Modern Combat).

I don't have time to put more than say an hour per week into gaming. Multiplayer games suck if you're not a good player, not fun to get killed all the time, or lose every time. you need time to dedicate to the gaming. It's not fun until you're good at it.


I'll buy PS3 for the 'same' reason I got PS2.
Console + DVD for ps2 (I didn't have a DVD-player)
Console + BlueRay for ps3.

..and I didn't like Xbox, nor Xbox360. The joystick and stuff isn't for me. But PS2 has been entertaining and I've liked it, so I'll stay loyal to the same company. I also have DS and PSP, I use DS more..just because it has 'smaller' games I can play while taking a shit. Like Wario touched. heh.
PSP is a lot better imho though.
