I want to order some Thai food, but don't know enough . . .

I want to order some Thai food, but don't know enough to order it intelligently. What are some good Thai dishes?

Pad Thai is always a good beginning - noodles with chicken and a little shrimp, and bamboo shoots and chopped peanuts on the side.

If you like noodles, my favorite is Pad Woood Sen, which is angel hair noodles with a variety of vegetables, egg, and shrimp usually.

Pad See Ew is thick noodles in a thicker mushroom/beef sauce that kind of reminds me of Thai stroganoff.

If you're not ito noodles, try the Pineapple Fried Rice. They actually bake the fried rice IN the pineapple so it has a sweet taste to it. Plenty of cashews and chicken, pork, or shrimp.

If you like curry, Yellow Curry can't be beat in my opinion. It's my favorite out of everything. It's not spicy like the other curries, just LOTS of flavor. Plus cubed potatoes, sliced onions, vegetables, and meat - I recommend the duck. Served with rice.

Let me know what you choose!

well, hopefully you'll be around to try another dish another night. thai food is broken down into a few categories, so just pick one from what you're craving:

rice

noodles

curries

soups

Good luck!

For the Thai food newbie, Pad Thai is probally the best. I personally love Panang and the Mus Munn with beef

That has been an ongoing problem with just about every wife and girlfriend I have ever had . . . I never crave anything.

This is what I am thinking about ordering (may be too much, but there can be leftovers for lunch tomorrow):

Pra-Ram-Long-Song With spinich and peanut sauce. (chicken version)
Pineapple fried rice (done with shrimp, chicken, cashews, raisins, pineapple)

Think it will work?

That's exactly what I'd do if the closest Thai restaurant wasn't 60 miles away.

This thread made me hungry and homesick for Seattle.

Maybe I should have tried it first, but I liked the Pad Thai better.

Let me take a couple pics for ILLBA, and I will post my review.
