Do you really believe even bad press is good press ?

People seem to believe this, and in most cases they are true. But I do not think it applies to all cases.

For example if a porn store is getting heat from religious protestors and it gets on the news, many people might say "Hey i didn't realize they had a porn store over there, i like porn i need to go check it out". Etc.. example of what could be seen as "bad press" being good.

Now, if you steal from your affiliates and laugh in their face how in the fuck could that be good. Unless someone who likes being stolen from and laughed at says, hey i never knew that company fucked you and laughed at you, I like to lose sales and be told I am a sheep, let me go promote them.

Also, possible for a unheard of company to get their name out there by getting even bad press, so people know who they are. Since everyone knows of AFF/Cams I don't see how this helps them any? Oh they are raising payouts, but at the same time taking your sales away by using zango, which is on 20 million PCs, many of which are in the US. SO they take a little give a little ? how is this a good thing?

Someone show me how I am wrong and that ALL bad press is still good press.

I dont think that is case in point at all. I think that the people who still use ibill or ICQ LC are people that never heard the press in the first place. Not everyone hears the bad press, the people who do the things you mentioned are prefect examples of that.

I was under the impression that they had heard the press and ignored it sighting your question - "even bad press is good press" - goes with the assumption that once someone hears the news - their reaction is either shun the people/program or embrace it despite what they hear.

I do agree - those that continue to use IBill simply have not heard any news at all

Maybe I didn't present myself clear enough. but we are on the same page

i dont agree with that at all. you have been around for a while... maybe long enough to remember the first issue with Ibill when RBL blocked all their IP's and it fucked everyone over.... then they were widely known to be the billing company of choice for shady/illegal stuff... they worked hand in hand with the worlds largest spammers... then they were sold... then it began to implode... peeople lost their 900 money for which Ibill was less than apologetic, then payments got later and later and later and later and later. the excuses got worse and worse and worse... finally they stopped paying... but still people kept using them.

i would say the opposite of what you are saying is true. this business is sooooooo full of ignorant, backwards, high individualistic and generally rebellious people that reflexively go the opposite direction of the crowd no matter what happens.
