Sponsors which claim xxx:yyy conversions? - GoFuckYourself.com

I've seen so many sponsors which advertise "get blank:blank conversion and start making serious cash!" Granted these statements are totally based on the webmaster, why do sponsors even bother? Prime example here is the penis pill type sponsors which boast conversions of 1:75-100. Tried these type sponsors on se, cj, tgp, LL traffic and recieved ratios of 1:400+. Why do sponsors even bother trying to pull with advertising certain convertion ratios...isnt it in the realm of false advertising? what ya think?

Why would they come right out and say that you are going to convert their site 1:4500 if you are lucky, and thats after they shave you.

And of course they are going to pay some kid in Arkansas $55.00 per $1.95 trial. Riiiiiight.

Does that make much sense to you?

Much like anything else in life, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

99% of the programs out there suck balls. But they have to say what they have to say to get a piece of the newbie pie. Sponsors depend on you clueless newbie bastards because they know anyone with even a half assed understanding of what is going on isnt going to believe their bullshit.

Programs rise and fall like the tide. The trick is to catch a good one while its coming in, because after it reaches it peak, its going to be history. You find a good one? Keep it to yourself. Want to know shitty programs? Look in everyones sigs on here. All you'll find is the dying and the soon to be dead. A popular program is a dead program.

Notice when a lot of companies on infomercials offer money back guarantees - say stuff like "If you aren't making TWICE the money you are making now we will refund ever penny you paid - no questions asked"

They want to put this idea in your head - a certain number - goal - whatever.

I have also seen people SWEAR they get ratios of 1:2000 on "Pure SE traffic" I have NO CLUE what these people are doing. I have promoted literally HUNDREDS of different adult websites and have NEVER DONE THAT BAD on ANY SITE EVER.

They count uniques differently and do things differently. It does attract people's attention, and I'd do it too if I were in their shoes.

There are very few unique AOL ips - at least there were - and I mean less than 10,000 a year ago. So you are only looking at aol IPs for instance - and you have 100 sales for the day - you are always going to have at least a 1:100 conversion rate from those IPs.

What is important to me is if I can get the same number of sales from one sponsor - using the same traffic as I am sending to another. I don't even know what my conversion rate is with most programs right now. I do look at it from time to time, but unless it is really good - or really bad, I just don't remember it.

I know it certainly seems that the more you promote a program - the less of a conversion rate you get.

I was get 1:24 with a SilverCash site last month. Put more promotion into it - now it is 1:62 this month. I am still promoting it. I probably got a little bit lucky and it is still a good site.

When I first promoted India Exposed - I was getting great conversion rates - now they are still good, but not as good as before.

I think it is more the website itself versus the sponsor. I don't believe this shaving stuff I hear all the time, maybe I am naive...
