Subdomain redirection

I just baught a expired domain that still contain some traffic, also on the subdomians. But how do I redirect the traffic from the subdomain to another site?

I own domain.com and redirect all traffic to sponsor.com with a htaccess file. How do I redirect traffic coming to xxx.domain.com

You probably need to get your hosting company to set it up. (Sounds like you don't run your own DNS). Some hosts charge per subdomain too, at least a set-up fee since it takes their time.

You can do it a couple of ways, the easiest is to have your dns point like this

* IN A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
make sure and put your ip in at the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

and then setup your apache to also take all calls with

ServerAlias *.yourdomain.com

That way all hits will be directed to the main account and you can setup a traffic hub or something to filter the traffic
