Look at these two situations:

1) FireTGP and IceTGP get 40k daily visitors and 1000 dollars a month. FireTGP trades traffic with IceTGP. FireTGP starts offering an archive of galleries. IceTGP has to offer an archive too in order to not lose bookmarkers. Both FireTGP and IceTGP start earning 800 dollars a month because they are giving away too much free porn.

The web is about surfing -- you can't keep a surfer all to yourself -- he will get bored or curious to try something different.

Yeah but a big % of the productivity is spent on keeping the surfer happy with free stuff. I agree it's one of the best models out there so far -- to build a TGP and do CJ trading on it... But in terms of $/hour work investment -- I'd rather say fuck the surfer and send all traffic to trades and then have a beer and take a nap. Reviewing and building galleries and updating descriptions and looking for cheaters gets old real fast.

Ok I guess you could run a TGP w/ zero trades if you paid to have traffic sent to start it up -- or you had good SE placement... Your site would have to be damn good though for the word of mouth -- and you would need to build your own exclusive galleries to feed it + you would need lots of good submissions w/ recips in place. All in all -- LOTS of time working w/ very small reward. Well I guess that's the nature of this biz just starting out -- don't expect profits at first. Anyway I'm just spouting off random shit -- I'm too tired to be posting on here........ ;)

Surfers like his site -- basic fact -- so if he did trades and pulled in fresh audience -- he would only grow larger. Can anyone argue that he wouldn't grow larger with trades? I can only dream of the SE potential of TheHun and Persian Kitty trading links -- wouldn't that like double their popularity rank?

Now, this customer could be drawn into the allure of the copy center inside of Office Max (i think it's called Copy Max), they come to find that there are more office supplies and also the option to get printed there. However, as time goes by they realize that because Office Max is a supply store, and doesn't specialize in copies, the work is shabby, always late, and the people are unknowledgable, so said customer goes back to kinko's(kinda like a loyal bookmarker, huh?)

I'm not exactly sure where i was going to go with this, but it made me think about economics, it seems it is applicable, even if traffic is unlike anything economics deals with. Hope I helped someone somewhere.

Trading traffic is the easiest way to grow and make quick money. I do it just like everyone else.

Sometimes I wonder why I send my surfers to someone elses site when I have them interested in clicking links on MY site. It sort of makes sense to keep a surfer clicking on your own site rather than ship him off to another site in a trade where you may receive a surfer in return that doesnt want to click any of your links. Its just a big fuckin circle really.

Gotta do whatever works I guess.
