That war in Iraq is really starting to pay off.

All those people that said we were there for the oil had me concerned as I had only seen fuel prices rise. Just got gas and saw it wasdown to $2.23/gal for regular.

It has been a very long time since it was that cheap around here.

Thank you Mr. President.

not really, summer driving season is over so demand is lower, refineries switch to the less expensive winter blends and a very unactive hurricaine season.
Go pull up any graphs charting gas prices in the US, it always starts to drop in October. But I'm sure you brush this off as it doesnt fall inline with the Bush is evil mantra.

It has nothing to do with Iraq. It has to do with the fact that countries bought up a huge surplus of oil during all the crisis we had over the summer and beforehand and now there is a large surplus driving down the price per barrel. OPEC has responded by cutting down production, prices will either stabilize or go up again eventually.

Diesel used to be here 93 euro cents a litre.
Then the war etc began and was something like 1.25 a litre
Now it's about 1.05 a litre

There's 3 1/2 litres to the gallon.

Petrol is about 1.40 a litre so a gallon would be 4.90 euro's that's about $5.50 - $ 6.00 a gallon.
American's should stop bitchin about fuel prices. Us dutchies pay for your discounts :D

Don't forget the opening of non-OPEC oil fields all over the world. Not to mention the fact that even though OPEC is dropping production, it shouldn't matter all too much considering they don't have the cartel they once had. Oil rates would drop even more if half a dozen conflicts would dissolve.

Yeah, the war has been awesome! Just look at the graph...

And since oil is so cheap, the cartel is cutting their supply to make sure demand stays strong..

the control of iraqi oil is more of a long term strategic thing, not something they thought would pay off in 3 years...

Can I get a big "fuck yeah."

You would not understand since you come from a country that is used to being attacked.

If you were from Germany you could probably relate.

Prices rise and fall based on deals no one knows about...sad really how small the community is when it effects the world as a whole

Do they have a private group on myspace or something?
