SPONSORS THAT OFFER RSS FEEDS - inside now please!!!

We all know most of you have pretty shitty feeds, and we all know that you don't listen to ANYTHING any of your affiliates tell you

but I am going to try this

If I could request one thing to make everyone's rss feeds 50% better with one single line, it would be this:
ADD A FUCKING LINK TO THE SITE THE FEED IS PROMOTING

here is a perfect example:
http://www.adailyfix.com/2006/10/27/ftv-girls-ruby/

now, yes, the pic is linked, but how hard is it to place a link after all the text that just simply says

To See More Of Ruby at FTVGirls.com Click Here

it is a SIMPLE fucking command, and barely anyone is doing it

on a side note: anyone want to see exactly what should NOT be done for an rss feed?

I just get sick of the pure shit people try and pass off just because they are following a trend...i can't believe more sponsors aren't doing more to force surfers to click on the feed links

the ones that come out like that topbucks are the fucking worst, they give us this:
Quote:
Soolin has a hot fantasy: to have her temple of delight fucked by an American sword of passion. Asian women are hotter for their tight pussies, and we'll see what she says after she gets her brains fucked out! It won?t be so tight after we get done with her!
what the fuck is the user going to click on? where is the link to the sponsor? where is the pic to entice them? WHAT THE FUCK IS THE PURPOSE?

Jace - can you show me where the feed is on your site?
What makes it 'bad'?
I know they were testing new ways to present the feeds so not sure if that's the 'test' link or the 'live' ones.

Contact me please. Thanks

why would I put that feed on my site? there is no links in the feed, there is no pics, there is nothing but a paragraph of text, that would never make it to my site(s)

I grabbed that link directly from the topbucks members area, and it specifically says that images won't be used int he rss feeds, LOL...ok...how about some links then?

I think TopBucks is presenting their feeds not as full "bloggable" feeds but for importing into TGP scripts. TopBucks is still providing for the TGPers but not for the Bloggers.

we are not talking about the good here, we are talking about the bad

the only reason I finally am posting on the boards about this, is because sponsors never respond to emails anymore

and I didn't mean to single out TopBucks as the only one, I hope no one thinks that, there are at least 2-3 I see on a daily basis that are just as bad

well, then they need to make sure they specify that their feeds are for tgp's and not blogs

not sure why anyone would do that though, I guess the whole quantity over quality thing is their motto haha

I'm curious. How many sales a day can you send with this and how many sales a day are other RSS people going to send with this? I don't know much about RSS, but it still doesn't seem all that popular, except with you.

Most sponsors try helping out as much as possible. They spend thousands of dollars a week on unique content. They build free hosted galleries. They build hosted TGPs. They build new sites to promote. They run contests and give away prizes.

Yes, its reasonable to expect better tools and it will typically benefit both parties, but getting pissed about the free tools you are provided along with the million other free tools are providing is just sort of silly. If RSS feeds aren't making sponsors tons of cash they aren't going to drop everything and run to it.

Sly RSS Feeds are Huge, and in a big need.. There's reasons why they are not available.... Not many understand RSS and before I really dove in to code some RSS projects, it was mind boggling to figure it all out..
I did a few scripts for sponsors, and they were great, but the lesson learned was running good feeds was a time consuming task and the content was literally destroyed 24 hours later... So therefore not much development gone into providing good ones..

But with that I can see the huge power in it.. Problem is the tools are not there to provide RSS feeds on an advanced level, Well until now that is.... I just releasing RSS CMS (Sponsor Edition)

I have a Power User version in the works, that should take care of the entire scenario of user needs.

If you use feeds, please check out the link I posted above, and take a test drive of what it can do, then inform your Sponsors to hook it up I am here to help all get going, and further develop this wonderful tool

my traffic and sales doesn't concern you, unless I am sending either to you....but I do well enough...an example, my latest project that I started less than 1 month ago currently has over 600 pages indexed in google with over 10k unique searches coming from the se's, all from rss feeds.

I have no clue how many people use rss, I know a shit ton of my associates do, I know 2 programs that have a lot people using their feeds because they are solid feeds, and I know a lot of program owners that created shitty feeds and come and ask why no one uses them

but you are right, rss isn't popular, so I will stop bitching

Actually - I just put them up on a page now **granted, it's not a blog page** and it's not 'bad'. Sample here: http://www.free-sex-pics-tgp.com/rsstest.php

The ones I have on my blog have a 'link' to the gallery **but yes, there's no image**

It's a script for sponsors, they buy it, install their content, creative admin posts for you to use, as well as you can edit and create your own. You can also get their FHG's in random and new formats, you can also import their banner ads into feed posts for some straight upselling..

The script is just completed, and I am looking into all feedback from sponsors and end users to make it the ultimate tool, so I set that up for everyone to play with... Not meant for live use

I am not sure where you got that feed from, but this is the feed I get:
http://rss.topbucks.com/?nostyle=1&r...ed=stati cpic

if you have ie7 you can open it in your browser and see there are no links there

my rss feed software pushes the feed exactly as it is printed, so if you don't have a link in there, one won't be printed on the page....some software creates a link for the publisher, but feedwordpress, the one I use, doesn't

hey man, I just looked harder and I love what I see

am I right in saying it is an rss solution for sponsors to create their own rss, and also give the affiliate full control over what they include in those rss feeds?

Exactly, and now you just got a taste of how hard this RSS concept is for people to understand... Even when the tools are out there, its rough getting someone to see the light as you just did with my tool. I literrally have to drag people through the dirt and force them to click every link so they can see the power of this tool... I hope you can help spread the word and keep RSS CMS in further development.

The greatest thing about this tool, is not only can you have unique content published when you want it published, is that the sponsor created content does not die, and you can import it at will... so over time you have such a resource of content built up... it's just pure heaven

And of course the ability to have the channels/sites/tours (feeds basicaly) to keep all your content to the right sites without reading in mass junk..

What I don't understand is what the need to friggin format the data at all. Why linked pics? Why formatted text? Why advise them to put a link after text? All that's needed is the RAW data!

multiple thumbs sizes, title, description, ref link, any other relevent info like girl's name, release date, whatever.
Example tags
imgsize1
imgsize2
imgsize3
title
desc
reflink

What's so difficult about that? That way we can all choose how and where we want to display the stuff. left aligned thumb with description, centred thumb with title alt tag, large thumb line break title. We can chose which bits are linked, link the title, link the thumb, link the whole description, or link some own text. We can show img size one with a title on site 1, image size 2 on site 2 etc etc.. with formatted feeds everyone gets the same shit, where-as basic data we are showing the same stuff but in different ways and won't all have this identical looking crap.

There's my peeve.. formatted fucking feeds that takes the decision out of my hands about how to display the data. If webmasters don't know how to manipulate feed data themselves then they should fucking learn or not use them. Rant over.

We have linked Channel Titles for all of our feeds that go to the girls site. And we're in the process of adding 5 different sizes of thumbs to choose from, with descriptive text under it for the gallery link.

so, I don't like to be critical anymore without giving some advice also

so, since I singled out topbucks, I will go a step further and give them an idea

see this tour:
http://www.asianparade.com/s1/index.html

now, see the text and four images?

IMAGE1 IMAGE2
IMAGE3 IMAGE4
"Soolin has a hot fantasy: to have her temple of delight fucked by an American sword of passion. Asian women are hotter for their tight pussies, and we'll see what she says after she gets her brains fucked out! It won’t be so tight after we get done with her!"

there is your rss feed post right now, just create a script that pulls the newest updates from the paysite and throws them directly into an rss feed, I know all your reality sites have nice big text blurbs for each update, so use those blurbs and 4 small images, and create a kickass rss paysite update feed ;)

you are taking it WAY too far now, I can barely get sponsors to listen regarding adding a link, now you want to make it fully customizable? hahahaha, yeah

but yes, you are 100% correct

give us the variable in drop downs and radio buttons, and let US choose how to format them

That's EXACTLY the kind of feed it should be. If you don't know how to manipulate the feed data to add your own link then it's time to learn. Don't ask for poxy formatting.

Well done Topbucks!

you must be a tgp guy then?

THIS is how a rss feed should be
http://www.mpbabes.com/?feed=rss2&y=revs&x=mgb

now, a gallery feed should be like the topbucks ones, but not a regular rss feed

well, since I am dealing with 95 feeds and 22 blogs, I just move on to the next sponsor, i don't have time to deal with half assed work

I want everything I do automated, I have not touched one single site I run in at least a week, and that was to add more sponsors into phpadsnew and do some link trades

how is someone who runs wordpress with feedwordpress, running cron jobs every 6 hours to push feeds into the blogs, going to benefit from dreamweaver?

AUTOMATED SON! don't you get it? that is the whole point of rss, not so you can download the feed, manipulate it, then throw it back up

check that one and tell me what it is that your software isn't showing? *the link to the gallery?
it isn't my software, it is most commonly distributed rss software for wordpress, feedwordpress

also, when I open the feed in IE7, I get this

Asian Parade Episode 38

Soolin has a hot fantasy: to have her temple of delight fucked by an American sword of passion. Asian women are hotter for their tight pussies, and we'll see what she says after she gets her brains fucked out! It won?t be so tight after we get done with her!
have your programmers downloaded wordpress and installed feedwordpress and tried the feeds, or are you all just using the rss for tgp owners?

No I'm not a tgp guy.. I'm a webmaster.. you do remember what one of those is I take it? I KNOW what to do with a feed.. I don't need a poxy blog plugin and shit to do the job for me. I don't need to be hand-fed. I need the DATA, nothing more. It's all any of you need. You can stick the thumbs and descriptions etc in your own friggin tables, and apply your own styles. Sure they could offer an "encoded content" tag with formatted content for the idjuts.. but it's unecessary. This just goes to show.. you consider a bad feed one to be unformatted, I consider a bad feed to be one that formats the content so I can't choose how to use it myself.

And to make it clear.. we're talking about AFFILIATE feeds here.. for WEBMASTERS to add to their own pages to give updated content. Not SURFER feeds for them to add to yahoo and the like.

Actually Jace, that feed is a non valid RSS feed, (they broke the scope using <category>

they can use <category> but should be in it's own namespace..
i.e <TGP:category>blah</TGP:category>
this is so the defination of category is understood by all and not misconstrued

I created a TGP namespace to be used (and we can work on perfecting it, anyone who wants to contribute)
http://adlt.net/TGPChannelModule/

if there are other feeds that need extended namespace structure, we can work on creating something for the adult as used by most... gotta get all on the same page

it is obvious we both the need the feeds for different purposes, which is where the whole idea of giving the affiliate customizable options comes into play, if they wouold do that, we woul;d all be happy

I could have my formatted feed, you could have your raw data

I don't know why you even need rss feeds though, topbucks and all those sponsors just grab that text from the paysite tours and galleries...and if you just take that text and format it yourself, then why bother with the rss?

you obviously don't know me though, to imply that I am not a webmaster, I can almost guarantee I have been punching out html and php in notepad longer than most on this board

I don't understand why you're not getting a link so give me a few while I install your 'setup' on another server and test to see what your issue is.

oh, BTW do you have any experience with clips in rss feeds?, I never played with one, but was figuring on adding it to the CMS... not too familiar with all the linking methods for that.. oh yeah and FLASH too.... or does those things have too much <object> crap needed and can't feed because of security problems?

I have no clue about rss and embedded video, I have always done all the video embedding by hand
