The sad thing is, yes, everyone hates spam and everyone deletes it without reading it. So, why do people still do it? The research has been done. Apparently just over 0.1% of people who are spammed actually reply to the spam e-mail. In marketing terms, if you send out 1,000,000 spams, you'll get 1000 responses. So, untill grandpa doesn't-know-how-to-delete-a-spam stops replying, we're all fucked.

But here's the truth. I spend money on ads and YOU do not respond. I put up a picture and I get hits, sign ups and sales.

What would you do in my position?

I would much rather spend my evening watching movies on my new DVD player. But business comes first. And I do kind of like it here.

If spam did not work it would have died by now.

Board Spam is a good way for new businesses to come into the market. Or would you just leave it to the big fish. Imagine what prices would be like, if it were left to only those who could afford the $2,000 a month ads?

It's not good enough to just put your site on all the lists. Ads are very expensive and the quality of traffic is poor, too many surfers.

1) I don't deal in free porn,signed up with this name for 1 post and got stuck with it
2)If you are large,why not pay for advertising? are you cheap? doesn't say much about your content if the owner can't even afford advertising
3)there is no alternative method... you either advertise and word of mouth follows

I've never seen when somebody asks "can you spam me with content providers" somebody mention you besides YOU lol...
But you can conduct business like that,it's really none of my concern but I know for a fact it turns a lot of people off...

I'll have an affiliate program coming out in 5-6 months and I am already calculating advertising into my budget... why not?

So do alot of other professional photographers i deal with on a daily basis. As for attitude...the guy tells it like he see it "a bit harsh sometimes" but what the hell..... Your not buying his attitude are you?...thought that approach was only for woman...sorry Tam dont kill me for this heheh Anyway... 95% of all webmasters spam, some more then others, but i think the "spam" is getting more creative and in most cases really interesting. I myself have bought ALOT from spam if its presented the right way.
