it really depends on what you do on the computer, as long as the software you are using exists for mac then I would suggest switching, it is much less hassle than a PC. however a lot of the programs made in the adult biz are only for PCs so I often find that I have to use virtual pc to run some programs, then again the new intel based macs can run windows so that would solve that problem mostly...

Different strokes for different folks. If you want ease of upgradeability and price-to-performance ratio you want a PC w/Windows. If you want something simpler and to be spoon-fed, go with a Mac.

here's what I was told by a programer . . . she used mac for the everyday stuff, like email etc and windows for the heavy code crunching . . winows crashed more, but windows was working hard and mac was crusing . . I think if yer interested in linux you can use a mac or pc . . . the only real prob with windows is the number of venders . . mac builds thier own hardware so they have better compatabilty at times . . with windows you have about 2 million guys writting drivers and stuff . . causes a few issues . . best to get a ready made box by sony or someone cause they work out all the issues . .

I'd advise against getting an Intel mac if you use any of the Adobe/Macromedia apps. I'm holding off buying a Mac Pro until universal binaries from Adobe ship. Only about 5-6 months to wait :-/

1. imac is a computer not a operating system
2. Mac OSX vs. Windows XP is a long lasted depate
3. Mac OSX is based on *nix or FreeBSD forget which but that alone makes it better however Windows has all the software
4. Fuck both and get Fedora
