I cleaned the PC of a friend of mine who is not in the business and found 26 instances of zango on his machine. Odd how he would have INSTALLED it 26 times.

Im sure he means 26 different files, cookies, reg entrys, etc related to 1 install of zango.

1 install will slow a computer down to a snails crawl imagine what more installs would do

it was pretty straight forward to uninstall for me... I guess it had to have some pros right? ;)

If you used the Zango uninstall tool (the one you have to go to their website for because they are careful not to put it with their normal install) you will find that it likely didn't remove all of itself.

You might want to do a slightly more indepth look at your computer...

Missie: We know you have been doing this for a while, but let me tell you this: There is nothing more inventive and more determined than a pissed off adult webmaster. We are pure fuckers when it comes to things like this, and regardless of what Zango wants to try to do, some adult webmaster will be there to try to fuck it up for them, such as by replacing their data file with triggers only on .gov domains.

Quiet got Zango 20,000,000 user base. Quiet ain't working.

As my stats show, the users with "zango" in their HTTP request string are very few.

What does this mean?
Zango install base is much smaller than they claim OR Zango does report itself anymore?

Ethical dilemma: I promise no popups, but this popup would only go to surfers who have clicked on previous popup, so this shouldn't offend them, but then again 'I promise no popups'. Does lying, even though it is for a good cause, become justified if someone has zongo installed?

Its a very serious statement. I couldnt care less about a 120x60. If people want to be taken seriuosly... they dont hide behind a nic with no representation. Im laying my balls on the line when making comments on this board. I also do alot of business in the free site market and I work my ass off. I dont care if its $25 being skimmed from only one company. The fact of the matter is, they are not the only people out there skimming your bottom line. So raising the idea that "we" are overeacting, to something thats going to continue to grow into more and more of a problem, doesnt settle well with me, especially when I and others around me, work our asses off, and theres bigger so called affiliate programs out there doing business with spyware, and expecting it to be ok to do so.
