I don't really understand this tread, the situation is well known. Make a blog, draw lots of traffic for your affiliates, have people post copyrighted stuff and claim you have no part in that deal.

It takes only one real infringement lawsuit and only one blog owner or free server provider do some jail time and the whole system is going to fall within weeks.

Rapidshare is based in Germany, the legals situation there does not really support what they are doing. I bet that a decent entertainment lawyer could get them shut down in a heartbeat and have their president do a nice 18 months in prison, not for infringement in this case, but for distribution of pronography.

Here is my solution: Everyone who complains here puts 100 bucks in an account, we form a corporation that represent webmaster's interests, we retain a top notch attorney with an international law firm ,and kick ass. One time.

Does anybody know what server providers rapidshare uses, or are they using their own? Even if they must have a line with Telkom, the conservative partially government owned german telephone company. Plus, they seem to be located in arch-conservative, republican dominated, catholic Suebia. Not a good place to stand an obscenity lawsuit. Why not take them down? Think about it.

Actually, me and Aga only crossed paths briefly and unfortunately I don't think that happened in the most positive manner. Nevertheless, if he pulls the plug on rapidshare.de, he has my respect.

Maybe, no idea. I don't know him. It's just some kind of "strange" or maybe "ironicly" that someone makes a post on GFY about that torrent sites, accuses AFF, but sells US$ 4000 Spots on one of the biggest such sites too.

Don't get me wrong, i don't support any such sites, they hurt me too.

I'm not bitter at all and I am by no means trying to take cheap shots at him. The only reason why I posted in this thread at all was the fact that I found it hilarious for him to call out AFF for the supporting content theft thing, when they broker ads for a site widely known for spreading stolen content. He's been hinting at the fact that I need to find a page displaying illegal stuff which has netpondads on it, and he'll take it down. I'd say I shouldn't have to do that. Simply by facilitating it for that site to make more money by brokering ads for them they're supporting them financially, regardless of where the ads appear. I hope you see my logic behind this. And as I said, if he takes it down from their advertising pages, he has my respect for doing so.

ok, let's put this together again:

- netpondads has several etology.com contact emails in their whois
- technical contact in the whois for netpondads and etology.com is the same, [email protected]
- netpondads IP ( 209.34.86.100 ) and etology.com ( 209.34.86.78 ) seems to be on the same network
===> from what i see they are directly affilated to each other, or even owned by the same people.

now let's check this again:
- netpondads is STILL offering adds for rapidshare.de and maybe some other similar sites on their "Buy Ads" Site for a nice price of US$ 4.000
- on rapidshare.de on the mainsite there is an advertisement from etology.com
- really funny thing is that these advertisment is going to AFF again

So the conclusion is so far:

Mr. Aga complains that AFF ads are on torrent sites, but its fine that his netpondads/etology advertises AFF on such sites, hey, that's somehow some new kind of "circle jerk" in my opinion.
