Get the picture situated on your monitor... flip the monitor so that the screen is facing down, and place it on a copy machine. Make a copy, and then take that copy to a scanner, and scan it to your pc.
As simple as 1, 2, 3 |

with Direct-X having control of your hardware, a screeshot doesn't actually see anything, so you just get a black window, right? You can try going into your video settings (right-click on your desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting), and turn your hardware acceleration all the way down to none, and then trying doing a screenshot again. I can't remember whether this actually works or not. You can obviously set your hardware acceleration back to full when you are done.
Another way to do it, is you can open the video in an editing program (like Adobe Premiere, for example), and use File, Export Frame, and choose a bitmap image. Hope this helps. |

Yeah, this can be a real bummer to achieve, but i found this software which takes a snap of the DirectX layer, its quite cool as it snap it and as it is the only layer that gets taken a picture of - you don't need to crop it after
Its called HyperSnap-DX 4 and the url to download is http://www.hyperionics.com/
