Adult Friend Finder RSS feeds

Hello all we are working on making our RSS feeds a marketing tool.

We have

Total Blogs: 97,558
Total Posts: 978,108

at http://adultfriendfinder.com/blog/

example of single blog
http://adultfriendfinder.com/blog/sa...ubsassybelle21

example of RSS feed
http://adultfriendfinder.com/blog/sassybelle21/rss.xml

Obviously we need to allow for passing the affialite ID into the blog, but what other ways can we arrange this content or provide this content to our affialites so that they can send us traffic and get free content for Search engines at the same time.

What features or offering From Adult Friend Finder would you like to see around RSS feeds, and bloggin in general ?

That would be great for my new project! ;)
A big categorized list of all available blogs and feeds would help, that saves us a lot of time.

1. Reasonable ammount of text from the post in the feed - not just title and link - full text feed would be nice, but it would need to be an option for the bloggers themselves I think.

2. A way to filter bloggers to feed - keywords perhaps, for example: Female, 35, New York - then we could have multiple blogs in one feed but they would all be relevent.

3. I will think about 3

Yes agreed this is more work than I had figured so i set up a wordpress on a server and then imported a bunch of other sponsors RSS feeds, I was really disspointed at the outcome I can not figure out how to get images in the feeds to disply on the primary home page. It does not seem super simple to set up and run, so the next Question is how much traffic is there really fromall this am I wasting our time trying to provide this ? Sure there are people who do this and do it well and a lot, but is there as much traffic in blog land as there is in the TGP market ?

I believe there is tons of blog traffic. Original written blogs are killer because people comeback daily for content. I think the author builds a real fan base on more personal level so its an easy sale. My personal real porn blog has a 15% bookmark ratio. Generic/rss blogs are easy for people to understand and with a few trades set up its just a repacked tgp.

The way i want to use RSS is to have it in between my real posts as filler.

I did this before with the free rss2html script. Just put it on a bare page and use an include where you want it on the blog.

Lars, I'm not sure how much traffic there is in blogs at this very moment. TGP may be bigger, but there is still enough to fight over. Also, if you don't have RSS feeds you should be getting them ready anyhow for way more reasons than some affiliates using them. ;)

Being able to search the blogs and display results as XML is extremely important. Especially for those of us who run blogs that update automatically. Being able to just show complete, relevant posts from any blog would kick some serious ass.

So like search for the word ass in all our blogs and spit out all blogs with the word ass in them as a rss feed ? I wonder how we would keep that updated I guess a daily cron on all the keywords would do it.

Are there variables you can give on the blogs to provide what type of blog (i.e. geo id, gender, posts, etc...) Having a buzz index would be great also. This would help in feeding the most relevant blogs into the right areas.

I'm not sure how "specific" you will consider this, but I think it is going to be the main stumbling block of adult RSS feeds.

I'm sure many affiliates will jump mindlessly on the bandwagon as always, but in search engine terms, it is death for a blog to display exactly the same content as other blogs. It isn't great from the point of view of grabbing surfers' attention either and also limits the ability to do things such as exchange traffic. To maximize the value of RSS feeds for everyone concerned, the sites using them need to be able to aggregate (combine) and mix feeds from different sources.

In the mainstream world, particularly in the area of newsfeeds, several major providers have adopted a common format, such that once you have your head around the technicalities of aggregation, generating that mix is easy. But so far, everyone in adult is going in totally their own direction.

Which, assuming you want your site to work well, means the best an affiliate can do is put a few feeds from one sponsor in this spot and a few feeds from someone else in another, which very quickly tends to produce a hard-to-navigate, unattractive patchwork of bits and pieces.

But since the only common element I have found in the RSS feeds available so far is the URL back to the source material, the only way to mix them would be to replace all the other fields with generic entries of my own, in much the way some TGP's list teen gallery, hardcore gallery, etc.

That is a huge waste of the potential value of RSS feeds and however much it goes against the grain, IMO sponsors who want to get the most out of them are going to have to agree on at least the core elements of the feeds they want affiliates to use. If they don't, most RSS feeds will turn out to be a bigger disappointment than hosted galleries have been to date.

I would recommend showing blog entries with "ass" in the title...possibly in the text of the entry too. Isn't there a way to make the database that holds the blog entries searchable? I don't want to say too much but if you want to hit me on ICQ I will explain what this could really be useful for. 4445137

I do not believe you will find the average blog to get as much traffic as the average TGP, but overall, it is a much higher quality.

Lars, that front page is rather humungous..over 2MB. Looks like you are displaying the whole feed as one post. You need to be able to choose how to limit how many items to display per feed / per post and how many posts on the front page. It took over two minutes to load 2500 plus items and still wasn't done.
