If any of you are, I just witnessed how hard it is to meet guys to be serious and consider relationships.

I was out at the burrito shop here where I live in L.A. and I saw this young woman, maybe like 25 years old. Beautiful, so my type, in tow with a 4 year old I'd guess. No problem so far. She's obviously latin, dressed well, saw her get out of a nice car, etc, etc. Anyhow, I'm interested, I have no issues with kids.

We start to chat in the line at the burrito place and right away there is chemistry. Sometimes it just happens. So we are talking and through our conversation in line waiting for some bomb ass burritos I learn she has an Ex. Well duh! Otherwise, how did you get that 4 year old right?

So anyhow, we talk more and she tells me how the Ex is still always around because of the little boy and that they split because he is abusive mentally and physically. She then goes into how hard it is to date and take things seriously with other guys because of it. Red Flags go up, and HIGH! I'm still not completely disinterested, but I am growing more concerned and the chemistry starts to wear off a little as the thoughts of the abusive Ex with a bat at my front door run through my mind.

By this time we have both ordered and are waiting for our food when the door to the shop opens and in walks the biggest shithead asshole attitude carrying thug punk I've ever seen. He immediately starts cussing at her to hurry up and whats taking her so long and blah blah blah. She looks at me like "See what I mean?"

What a mental prison that must be to have to deal with that fucker all the time because you share a child with someone. What's really unfortunate is I am a super easy going guy who doesn't mind the child part, but I'll be damned if I would deal with that fucker messin up the mental side of her should a future hold anything.

Before the dirtball came in I almost asked her for her number because she seemed really cool and like someone I'd not mind getting to know better. She obviously had a good job because she said she came from a law firm or something, dressed well, was well mannered, but was completely sunk by the 160lb turd idiot that obviously took pride in pushing her around.

Thats why I feel for her. She is obviously dealing with his shit because of the little boy, but at the same time destroying her own chances of ever meeting a quality guy. Quality guys won't deal with that shit or even be within 100 miles of it.

I left by saying to "Have a good night and good luck."

I know all single moms don't have that issue, but alot do keep the dad in their life. I really felt bad for her as I was driving home.

OMG, don't even get me started with EX-husband (iow-my baby's daddy) issues... wtf do people think that bc the relationship is over they have to be asses? We should all get along, more so after the relationship is over "for the kids sake." I don't believe in staying in a relationship bc of the kid, but there should be adjustments made for the child's sake to spare him/her from the problems of the parents.

My parents divorced when I was 5. My mom, brother and I moved 1000 miles away from where my dad was (not to get away from him, just to leave the nasty LA area) my dad was never around, he didn't care to be a father and to me he was a birthday card and a couple of phone calls a year. My mom worked her ass off to support my brother and I. She probably could have gone on welfare and shit like that, but she refused to set that kind of an example and she worked two jobs sometimes and worked jobs she hated to provide for us. I can honestly that I think my mom probably went out on 3 dates from the time I was 5 until I was 18. She instilled a strong work ethic in both of us and now that I'm an adult and see what she did for us I really admire her.

If the girl A1R3K met truly wanted to she could get that guy mostly out of her life, but is sounds like, for some reason she agrees to keep him in it.

I think being a single mother is one of the hardest things in the world to do and one of the most rewarding. Some of the best moms I know are single moms. Always a hard thing to do is deal with the ex.

They obviously did the right thing and accepted there responsibilities and kept the child.
