This is only partially correct.

We use a company to assist our merchants incorporating in the EU which can appoint a local resident director for you.

There are a lot of misconceptions being posted regarding offshore incorporation and processing.

The reality is that it is nowhere near as complex as many want to make it.

Sure, there are increased costs associated with the process, but you will probably find yourself with a lower merchant discount rate in the end. The annual cost to incorporate in the EU (with a local resident director) is somewhere around 1,600 GBP per year. Add in the associations' high risk registration fee of $1,500, plus any bank application fees and you've now got an offshore merchant account for a little over $5,000 US.

We typically place merchants at around 7 - 8% MDR - that is half of what many of you are currently paying. You need to decide whether or not the upfront cost of going offshore is worth it. If you are doing any kind of decent volume, you'll find that you will be far ahead at the end of the year by getting your own direct merchant account vs. continuing to pay the outrageous fees associated with third party billers (who do you think gets their merchant accounts for them?).

The downside is that we have minimums in place that are only rarely lower than those quoted by Netbilling. Our banks are reluctant to dip much below $20,000 per month. It can be done, but not every time.

Hope this helps.

i will be in touch with you shortly
However it has become unneccessarily difficult for adult merchants to be honest and get a merchant account
i hope someone someday soon comes out with an alternate way of paying for website subscriptions that finishes off the visa and mastercard
