photo people: i have a lens question..

What type of lens do i need for my EOS to make a picture like this:



Fisheye?

Fish eye? Hell no .. if that were a fish eye lens the corners of the image would be curved at best that looks to be a 70 mm ...
maybe a 50 mm but i doubt it the photographer looks to be a good 10 to 15 feet from the house ..

But to answer your question for landscape pics .. your best bet would be a 35 mm prime

looks like '50mm' image but not with a 50mm lens, 50mm lens on most digital cameras really produces 80mm image...

Depends on the camera, if it has a crop factor or not. On my 20D - I have shot many of landscape photos with my 24-70. However like the other folks have touched on, a prime would be good as well. The canon 10-22, 24-105, 85mm... All great landscape lens's. Not sure if this helps or if it's too late... Good luck!

And about the fish eye, if you look at the edges, there is absolutely no bend - so this wasn't taken with a fish eye (no arch) at all...
