Do you guys make *any* money on sex toy store sites?

I've had a link to a sex video and toy store for a few months and I haven't made 1 dime.

the link just says "Video & Sex Toy Store" and the page only gets like 10k/day, but I should have made at least 1 sale after a few months.

Are they worth keeping only if you have lots of traffic or am I pumping a dry well here? I'd rather fill that spot up with something else if toy stores are worthless.

The people who will click your sextoy store link and buy sth are usually your bookmarkers. If they saw everyday the same ad for the same sex toy store, they will probably but at the end...
Just give them some time
Here is my Sextoy Sponsor :

I've had one for about 3years and I don't promote it anymore, I still make a few hundred a month on ALOT less traffic than 10k.

Where is your traffic from? It sounds like it might be alot of foriegn traffic that can't read english perhaps...

Most of my traffic comes from US.
I'm not sending them 10k, thats just how much the page with the link on it gets. But after a few months I should have been able to sell something.

Oh well I'll try something else instead

thanks all

Not trying to be a smartass, but that doesn't sound like much of a sales effort, Marcus. I mean, would you promote someone with a link that just said "Adult Pay Site" and expect any sales?

Keep in mind that hard good sales require a different approach and the most difficult part is overcoming the "instant gratification" mind set that the surfers naturally have. I mean, you're having to get them to consider parting with some hard-earned cash right now for a product that they won't see for a week or more- there's no "INSTANT ACCESS!!!" possible. Right?

Also, my experiance (which had been, until recently, exclusively on-line hard good sales for 7 years) is that most tangible product buyers are bookmarkers that have returned a number of times before making their first purchase.

That may have a bearing on your lack of sales, btw- perhaps the sponsor is unable to effectively track the people you've sent over up until the point the finally did make a purchase. But, most likely it's simply a matter of not engaging any of your traffic with a reason for them to go check out "The Most Unusual Erotic Boutique" you've ever encountered...

Platinum Dave:

Nice program you offer! And letting the traffic stay on the site it came in from is a nice feature, I'm sure that eases a lot of worries about being cheated.

But the link on your page to http://www.irecommend.com/videostore/index.html is 404, maybe they dropped out recently???

Get a click tracker. Find out how much traffic you're sending. 10k a day is decent but maybe that link needs a little spicing up.

to make money from a sextoy store, you have to SELL it...don't just slap up a banner...

Iif you want to make some serious cash with a sex toy store, do this:
go through and select a few products, then write mini-reviews of these products....some of these sex toy stoers are huge and can be daunting....so select a few products and per-sell your traffic before sending them to the sex toy store....

if the store stocks dvd's/videos, review a couple....get people excited to want to buy them...create a full page ad using some of the products in the store and link to that first before sending them onto the actual toy store itself...find some selling points...if the toy store offers free batteries or is running a "buy something and get a free virbrator" promotion, create a sales pitch/text link on getting a free vibrator and tell the surfer how to get it...

if the affiliate program allows deep linking, link to specific products and feature them in your members area, right there on the first page....rotate products every couple of days...if your site is a free site, do the same thing...create a nice full page ad...incorporate some toys/videos/dvd's on your exit consoles...get creative....

to make money from a toy store, you have to sell it just like you would a sponsor...don't just throw shit against a wall and see what sticks...

I saw your post yesterday...

I thought .."what the fuck"... I'll try selling a few toys.

I burried a text link on my 404.... that only gets COMPLETE shit traffic, and made two sales.

The link read....

"Things you can fuck at home to make your dick smile"

...and linked it straight to the pocket pussy's page.

Me & my dick are happy bankers!..... Keep at it bro!.... and thanks for bringing up the subject! Your post will help me & my dick with a lobster dinner.... You can lick the spoon if ya want?

Thanks

Shrek

Yep and I do it... with one of the larger paysites... I just put up
text links 40+ right in the middle of pages....with the name of the site less the .com... and get less than 1/150 usually.. most of my traffice is USA...

But I have no ideal why it works for some and not others paysites, other than the name of the site...

That may be, but I wager a toy site with male models will sell better than one with gals.

I hate it when people design gay sites all pink and those arrows like it's a barbie dream house website.
