Now I am posting videos and showing affiliates where they are losing sales. Still no answers...

But hey will76, you're right... I'll shut up about it. For a year or so. Then I'll return and post about how all of these spyware programs are still around. Keep up the good fight though, I can't wait to ask you why you weren't able to win the war on terror.. err... spyware.

Actually it's become quite well accepted in Mainstream except for occasional slaps on the wrist when someone shines the spotlight on them.

And for the record, I had made it very clear at the GTS/P2PAds office that if Zango or any other spyware/illegal/non moral company had received so much as one single hit from us, that I'd be out the door at a moment's notice and never return.
It never happened.
For those of you who don't know, I did the programming which managed the traffic in and out of P2PAds and was well aware of exactly who was and wasn't getting traffic. And I take this sort of thing extremely serious.
And for those of you who do know me, you know that I never ever compromise my integrity for no one nor any amount of money and have absolutely nothing to prove.
And if those of you who don't know me don't believe me, then feel to either ask someone who knows me, kiss my ass or continue to assume and make an ass of yourself. It's up to you which you choose.Comment

Maybe I'm missing something here.. Did everyone here forget that ALL our stats went in the shitter around last spring.. Well at least EVERY webmaster and affiliate program I have asked since last summer. (and it's a pretty big list)
That browser is a GREAT example of why "installs" are going to be the death of the affiliate and soon the affiliate programs.
Think about our main income surfer, he's not very internet savy, doesn't know about TONS of free porn yet.. That is what this persons browser looks like these days. Think he'll manage to get to your join page very easy??
Keep screaming to the rooftops about how "legal" this stuff is and watch the where this industry ends up if it isn't controled.

I don't get the implied logic that if something cannot be wiped out, that somehow implies legitimacy and/or that fighting it is a waste of time. Should we fire our police forces and send every lobbyist home?
It is impossible to prevent people attempting to prey on others and many victims wouldn't react if you jabbed them with a cattle prod. The point of attempting to make people care, can only be to reduce the impact and reach of the vultures. Above all, to prevent their practises being seen as legitimate and thus becoming even more commonplace.
Right now in this industry it is impossible to avoid the conclusion that too many have earned too much money, too easily. How else do you explain apparently smart people not caring about things which undermine or threaten to undermine their businesses? Perhaps some use the excuse that they are not specifically targeted by the current crop of "tricks", but is it really so hard to grasp the concept that their good fortune is unlikely to hold tomorrow and next week, next year?
The fact that technology makes something possible and the law may not have caught up, does not make everything legitimate. There will always be a fine line between acceptable competition and - to all practical intents and purposes - theft of business, but without that line, everyone is vulnerable and ultimately the only beneficiaries are the people running the scams. The greatest damage is not even caused by the scams themselves, but because of the amount of effort we have to divert into protecting ourselves, instead of being able to stay focused on our real business.Comment

yeah, like anyone is going to believe that this thread shines a positive light on your "business" somehow. and frankly if the bumping of a nearly 6 month old thread exposing at best questionable practices is something you consider being put "back in the spotlight", that speaks volumes for the marketing expertise (or lack thereof) you have to offer customers looking to increase their revenues. way to go
