It won't be the end of the world if the domain doesn't fetch what I think it is worth. That is why I am selling it with NO RESERVE.
Regardless, I believe the domain is an incredible opportunity for a pay site operator to make alot of money with a branded MILF site. The domain has a great keyword and is very friendly and welcoming and seductive to surfers. It is very very marketable. It will be interesting to see if the domain buyer is able to cash in with it and make a kickass pay site. I believe it has that potential. Alot depends on the acquirer also having the other necessary elements, such as good content and a strong affiliate marketing network. I certainly hope so. I hope the buyer hits a home run with it. It would be alot of fun to disprove the haters, if nothing else. :) |

Anyway, there is a VERY interesting front page article in the current issue of XBIZ WORLD (September 2006) entitled "Branding Is The Big Picture." It would seem to confirm what I have been saying right along, and specifically mentions Playboy, Wicked Pictures, Hustler, and others. It cites the longevity of the Bettie Page brand; she is now 83 years old, but her sexy images from the 1950s still sell, sell, sell. Anyway, the MILF LOVERS domain is a bargain, even at $50k. It could make that back in a very short time period if the domain were developed properly. There is only half a day left until the end of the auction. Nobody here doubts branding. They would just rather spend $500 on a domain and $49,500 on branding than do as you suggest and buy any domain some spinster tells them is great if they only buy 6 figures of content and launch an affiliate program based on it!!!
