Sorry, I thought I could pull this off :(

I really really tried to replace my morning coffee with green tea. I want to kick my caffeine addiction but it's so hard. I am really considering making a fresh pot of the good stuff and it's only day one.

I like the green tea but everytime I go to drink it I am expecting my sweet tasty coffee.

Anyone else trying to kick the coffee habit?

I had to kick it due to stomach problems and headaches
I find a pepsi every couple days helped me rid the coffee blues
I thought it would make me sleepy during the day
but after a while I found that I sleep less and have a better sleep

I succesfully made the switch from coffee to green tea about a year ago.. But I'm averaging 3-5 cans of coke zero per day, so that's pretty much defeating the purpose of giving up coffee, lol..

green tea has caffeine in it, just not as much as coffee

I'd suggest going to the asian market and buying some good quality jasmine Green tea leaves and brewing it that way. It's much stronger and more aromatic

Green tea is caffeinated... the leaves are just processed differently.

I cut way back on the coffee and started drinking iced tea recently. I'm finding that I'm a lot less tense and irritable.

I probably have one of the worst coffee addictions of anyone around here.

I was (at one time) drinking up to 12 pots/day but now I'm down to only 3 or so per day. I drink it all day and night and go upstairs in the evening with 2 travel mugs of coffee to get me through the night and yep, I drink it when it gets cold (though not iced).

I hear reports now and then that says coffee is bad for you, then hear other reports that it's good for you but quite frankly, I love my coffee and will never stop drinking it.

I don't want to die healthy. Though I'm in no hurry to get there, I want the coroner to cut me open and say I deserved to be on the table!

I've become a morning coffee addict this summer
Don't feel alive until I get a cup, and tea makes it even worse

I am in the exact same boat, I just can't get used to it though..

Maybe I should take smoking back up and give up coffee, not sure If I can get through the day with just tea..

Good luck anyway I might give green tea a go

start an exercise routine (if not already doing so) and just drink water instead of coffee. in 4 weeks you won't even need coffee anymore. You'll have more energy, higher metabolism and wake up and go to bed no sweat.

Like suggested elsewhere in this thread, most supermarket green teas have caffeine in them. Look out for the decaffeinated ones. They will be more expensive but worth the try. Your local health shop will sell them.

You can also try different blends to see which taste you prefer. Some are more potent than others and more similar to the strong taste of coffee.

why not do 50/50 mix of regular and decaf coffee for a week and then cut it down to 25/75 for a week?

i like the smell of the coffee brewing as much as i like drinking it

I need an extra large Williams coffee to make it through the days lately, but i swear whatever they put in their beans is insane, it gets me worked up for 6-8 hours off a single extra large.

I usually don't drink coffee. And I hate the taste of both cola and energy drinks. I once drank an entire pot of coffee in 15 minutes. I started to feel blurry and all. Since then I can only stand little doses of coffee and I don't particularly like that either.
