Bush Approval Rating at 44%

Somewhat amazing if you ask me. I understand that 30% or so of the public would approve of a child molester running our country if it had a little R in parenthesis next to his name, but over 40% is somewhat amazing.

I don't care if you're Republican, Democrat or what. Heck, my beliefs are fairly conservative, which is why I dislike Bush so much. But for 44% of the country to approve of what he has done after all this nonsense really says a lot about this country.

Yeah, in the last month up 10 points or so. The Democrats bashing Bush day in day out must not be working.

It's at the high end of the swing pattern - 35-45% post Katrina, and following a concentrated terror speech campaign which is what raises him to that high every time...

We'll see what happens this week with all the big speeches at the UN. Was thinking it would be interesting if they arrested Ahmadinejad while he's here...that would spark some controversy

Your approval rating just lost a few points.

I heard a conspiracy theory that you crashed a watermelon into Jalalabad to make a camel look guilty of sucking off Santa. I believe every word. Mainstream media is fucking SCARED to report it. PUSSIES!

I have not heard this much hot button pushing in a long time. Every Bush soundbite I hear is on of these buttons over and over...

freedom *buzz*
liberty *ding*
terror *gong*
values *hee haw*
tax cuts *arrrrruuuuuuga*

I mean every speech is ths same horseshit over and over. I do not know how anyone can listen to this shit daily.

It all goes to show that the public are sheep. If a few speeches can change your opinion one way or the other than you obviously weren't paying attention before. This is standard issue Repub election tactics. Scare the public and convince them they are the only ones that can protect them. The problem with the democrats is that they never seem to come out with a plan of their own and show the people there is another way to fight. I would expect more and more speeches about terror and how afraid we should be in the next 8 weeks.

It shows that the Republican followers are sheep in my opinion. I'm conservative in my views and Bush is as fucking liberal with his spending as any fucking Democrat you could have put in office. It amazes me how so-called Republicans support him blindly when he really governs nothing like a true Republican.

Says a lot about the intelligence of people there ... the problem really is, that many people are either Republican or Democrat, period. It doesn't matter who is running things - it's like religion and they don't switch.

So asking the people who are die-hard Republicans if they approve is a waste, it's like asking if they still believe in their religion.

He's giving it away to Iraqis who could give two shits about us. I'd much rather spend our money on our own country than someone elses. When schools in Chicago get shut down because of funding while we are paying for schools in Iraq to open, something is wrong.

Like I said, I'm against that kind of spending either way. But if I had a choice, I'd rather it be spent on our own country.

Actually that's incorrect.

The difference is it's corporate welfare. Not social. Only difference.

It's a mystery how he had a bounce like this. The Dems are to blame for allowing this with the November election fast approaching. They better get their shit together and pound home what an inept failure this guy is.

And I'm also curious on what you consider social crap? Would billions on Katrina fall into that category too? We need to face it, Bush is a Democrat when it comes to spending.

many world events skew bush's popularity up and down and have nothing to do with his leadership qualities.

camel jockey's burning christian churchs because of something the pope says can make bush's approval rating go up.

discovery of new oil reserves in gulf of mexico can make his approval rating go up.

lower gas prices can make his approval rating go up.

etc, etc.

i suspect he will go down in history as america's worst president.

and the simple reason is because america is weaker today than ever, and no longer seen as the moral leader in the world.

playing around with the geneva convention is one of the worst possible things bush can do now.

i give new respect to colin powell.

Wow 4 posts by sticky. I'm sure he's making some pro-Bush point. Fortunately I have him on ignore now. What's the point of talking to a brick wall? If Ossama had an R next his his name Sticky would vote for him.

FACT. I can prove it. Ok Sticky( although I won't be able to read your response I already know the answer ) your choices in the 2008 election are;

A) Democrat Hillary Clinton
B) Republican Ossama Bin Ladden.

and you HAVE to vote or you get shot in the head. Who do you choose?

It was explained. 86% of republicans now approve of Bush vs 70% a few months back. That's the entire bounce. No democrats or independants have changed thier minds.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in November. In the polls, Democrats are poised to rip the Republicans a new one. They should take the House with ease and pick up a few seats in the Senate as well.

If they get the House, Bush is in deep shit though. They'll have power to run investigations on everything he has done from the Iraq war, Katrina, wiretapping, and so on. It'll be two years of hell for him.

In a way you are correct. Most true Republicans think Bush is a piece of shit. He spends like a liberal and doesn't take a stand on issues like immigration. He is about big government which is something that most conservatives are very much against. If you look at what Bush has accomplished while in power, it's fairly sad considering he had a Republican congress behind him.

But that's how parties survive. They make it a game, they herd the sheep to salivate over everything they say. They polarize the country by making you feel like the other side is with the terrorists. They make you feel like an outcast if you don't agree with everything they say. It's no different than a religious cult (not just Republicans, Democrats are the same way).

I'm fairly conservative and have a lot of libertarian beliefs. I've donated to the Libertarian party. So to say I'm just a Republican basher is wrong. Bush is far from a Republican and those that support him don't even know what a Republican is.

His approval ratings always go up after he gives speeches. It's just the idiots who believe everything they are told without really looking into the facts.

It's similar the the idiots who keep saying our economy is doing great, but fail to acknowledge the record 3 trillion dollar debt he has created for us.

And most of the old people can't cast their disapproval because they can no longer afford their medicine and are too sick to get to the phones.

I don't know if the elections have to do with it. Gas prices typically go way up during the summer when everyone is on the road and doing stuff. It's been like that forever. It'll go up during the holidays too.
