This had to be said: Muslims are the most feared group of people on the planet (LINK)

http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/arc...popes_remarks/

I had to say this....

I'm not saying all muslims are terrorists, and I'm not saying all muslims are crazy fanatics, and I'm not even going to say that the majority of muslims are bad people.

BUT I will say collectively the are the most feared group of people on the face of the earth. And it's completely fucked up to think that they are members of a "religion".

Now I gave them a pass earlier when they protested against the cartoon of Mohammed simply for the fact that muslims do not believe in having images of Mohammed displayed.

But this takes it to a whole different level.

The Pope quotes someone who said that Mohammed introduced a type of violence never seen before in this world.

Basically saying that Islam has a violent nature.
Muslims respond by burning and shooting churches and killing a NUN

Way to go guys.....

Can't agree with the thread title PL. Muslims may be "feared" by a minority, but... guessing... that may be more out of ignorance than much else.

Got nada problem with Muslims or anyone else - and sure as hell, don't "fear" them.

One aspect tho - be wary of the subtle bullshit purveyed by those with an agenda. There is a spin message going out to "hate" Muslims - much the same way the US was "taught" to hate the French. (And oddly - that crap worked).

The death of a nun is ... more than unfortunate. That can happen anywhere. How many Muslims were killed in the last 24 hours? 50? 100? 150? They don't get a mention - they are nameless and "collateral damage".

Considering they like to cut off heads on camera and all we do is make them stand naked and feed them too much food I don't see any problem with those pictures ?

Honestly, where I am from I think it is more pure hatred than fear. My fear is that the neo-con clash of civilisations will result sometime in our lifetimes. Honestly, I don't know many men who actually fear them, more than they want to actually kill them. When the Muslims demand an apology from the Pope and protest in the streets 9/10 people I know the vast vast majority of people hope the Pope will just turn around and tell them to fuck off. It is only the diplomatic language which most of our politicians and leaders use to them, which often isn't reciprocated that keeps the world from heading down the path of constant escalation and towards war along these lines. If the Pope turned around and completely refused to apologise and instead told them to piss off I really don't think many people in the West would be scared of the reaction, they'd be too busy cheering him on. I don't blame alot of them, I understand it, but I do blame alot of Muslim leaders for not showing the same respect back and diplomatic language that most Western leaders use, language that is necessary for things to cool down.

The problem is just about every Muslim from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan etc consider Ataturk a traitor. In fact on the half a dozen occassionas I've talk to Muslims in Australia about the issue of Turkey joining the EU for instance, the very first thing they have said to me when I referred to Turkey as a Muslim nation was that 'Turkey isn't a Muslim country'. Whilst Ataturk certainly did alot of great things for Turkey, I am afraid support for people like him isn't particularly huge across most of the Middle East, or the Muslim world. It's a shame, but it is undeniable. So what's the solution to this problem? I guess it lies somewhere with moderate Muslims fighting extremist elements, as opposed to the US army doing it.

I think that people are afraid of them not only because of terrorism that they produce (and i am not sure if they produce such much of terrorism they they say), but also because their religion is so different and cruel and people do not understand it.

Dear Moslems Brothers and Sisters,

The pastoral visit which I recently made to Bavaria was a deep spiritual experience, bringing together personal memories linked to places well known to me and pastoral initiatives towards an effective proclamation of the Gospel for today.

I thank God for the interior joy which he made possible, and I am also grateful to all those who worked hard for the success of this pastoral visit. As is the custom, I will speak more of this during next Wednesday's general audience.

At this time, I wish also to add that I am deeply sorry for the reactions in some countries to a few passages of my address at the University of Regensburg, which were considered offensive to the sensibility of Muslims.

These in fact were a quotation from a Medieval text, which do not in any way express my personal thought.

Yesterday, the Cardinal Secretary of State published a statement in this regard in which he explained the true meaning of my words. I hope that this serves to appease hearts and to clarify the true meaning of my address, which in its totality was and is an invitation to frank and sincere dialogue, with great mutual respect.

What's that have to do with a nun being targetted and shot to death?? The reason it made news was because it was in response to the pope's comments which were meaningless to begin with.

I'm working on a site where I had to make a conscious decision NOT to go after muslims purely because the backlash would be worldwide and people would die over it. Those people have no sense of humor...so fuck 'em. They don't have credit cards either so I'm not losing much. :-)

Christians, Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientologists and everybody else...you're in for it. :-)

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the airport passenger lounge in Bozeman, Montana, while awaiting their respective flights. One is an American Indian passing through from Denver. Another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show, and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull. The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, "At one time here, my people were many, but sadly, now we are few. "The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, "Once my people were few," he sneers, "and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?"

The Montana cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl, "That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, but I do believe it's a-comin'.

It is hard to throw away everything you have been taught since childhood, but I encourage you to look deeper into your religion. An ideology of hate needs hatred of it to survive, without hate Islam will moderate into a religion that is no longer true to its teachings (such as in Turkey). I am not saying all Muslims are hateful, but I am saying that the true teachings of Muhammed are not peaceful, for Muhammed himself was not peaceful. I do not wish to back you into a corner on the issue, as it will only make you even more defensive, but I do encourage you to read from http://www.faithfreedom.org/ and learn about the religion you were born into. Read his debates, read his claims, read the testimony's of others who left Islam, and maybe you can find the correct path for yourself and this world.

Feared? Actually most are very peaceful and the minority of nut bags that protest in the street everytime their stinky panties get twisted in a wad crack me up. A bunch of freaks.

As for the radicals, I hope we keep hunting them down like the dogs that they are.
