What would America be like now if Al Gore was President?

Contemplate...

With the exception of a few thousand lives not lost over nothing..

Gore didn't have an agenda with Hussein, and nobody can say for sure either way what might have happened on 9/11 had he been in office..

Probably wouldn't have been illegal wiretaps, or a warped patriot act..

But you're right in the sense that he would still have been just 1 fish in a pond of many..

Probably ban the cutting of grass..

Civil liberties would be just as eroded under Gore, all in the name of fighting ManBearPig.

Hmmm, and for all those ppl that said global warming caused the hurricanes last year what happened this year? Sure, there is a while to go yet in the hurricane season but we are at what is the typical peak of hurricane season. Guess that was just more BS spouted.

Everything he promised simple minded demorats would have come true by now.
Superman and Teenwolf would have been cured.
No hurricanes would hit the U.S.
Icebergs wouldn't melt in the summer.
Poor people would be rich and rich people would be poor.
Black preachers would be the richest men in America.
Dirt Famers would get rain machines
Clinton's recession wouldn't have been reported in the media.
Social Security money would be in a lock box under his bed.
Inner city children would stop shooting each other.
Europeans would love the U.S.
Terrorists would stop blowing up our shit.

Essentially the same thing democrats promise every four years with no ability to deliever.

Way way way better off now. Unemployment is low. Where you getting your stats from?

Quote:
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 128,000 in August, and the
unemployment rate was little changed at 4.7 percent, the Bureau of Labor.
http://stats.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

What was the best rate in the last 20 years? Not much lower, and dont give me this McDonalds crap either. Wouldnt have a housing boom with people working at mcdonalds. lol

Thats a stretch, but it is VERY STRONG right now, Bush has done a good job getting us out of the dot-com bust, the earnings scandals(enron etc), September 11th and a recession that Clinton started.

Sheesh... another GFY economist living off the national credit card.

Clue - every day other nations are owning your ass to a greater extent.

US currency is worth little in comparison (eg 40% less against the Euro).

China owns more of the US than anyone and is thinking of dumping billions of their US dollars.

Sure, the economy is very strong - and Bush is an excellent manager of the economy.

Personally I'm way better off. For one thing no debt except mortgage.
Got some savings plus 401K that I did not have 10 yrs ago.

The reason people are in debt up to their eyeballs is simple, they spend way beyond their means. They have to have the million dollar home 2 or 3 new cars. Its their own fault.

If people are unemployed as you claim, again its their own fault. If you live in an economically depressed area pick your butt up and move to where the work is.

You are responsible for you!

Why is that? Because Muslim terrorists hate George Bush but love Democrats? He was vice-president when terrorists bombed the WTC in 1993.

Good Things

1. We wouldn't be fighting in Iraq and because Saddam was still in power Iran would not be playing with nuke tech.

2. The USA would not be going about $1,000,000,000,000 every year.

3. Congress would not be writing bills that say we should bypass the Supreme Court.

4. We would have fewer poor people and fewer filthy rich people.

5. We would have 2,500,000 more manufacturing jobs.

6. Oil prices would be lower.

7. We'd still be producing the M3 report.

8. The dollar would be stronger

9. US foriegn policy would not be producing as many terrorists

Bad Things

1. We would be higher taxes.

2. Prices at Walmart would be higher since we'd have a tariff of 27% on Chinese goods

3. We would have less foreign investment in the USA.

4. 9/11 would have happened any way.

There might be a draft, but it would be more like the peace core. Boot Camp would be mostly sensitivity training.

A rumor would circulate that Gore was seeing a shrink trying to find his true personality.

Rush Limbaugh might not be on the air as there would have been federal charges involving his drug use.

12clicks would be uncontrollable.

Don't forget all the funny quotes we'd have.
Even with out being Prez he's racked up some doozies!

"A zebra does not change its spots." - Al Gore, attacking President George Bush in 1992.

"We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur."-- 9/22/97

"For NASA, space is still a high priority."-- 9/5/93

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children."

"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."-- 9/15/95

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."

"[It's] time for the human race to enter the solar system."

"We're all capable of mistakes, but I do not care to enlighten you on the mistakes we may or may not have made."

"I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy - but that could change."-- 5/22/98

"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any vice president, and that one word is 'to be prepared.'"-- 12/6/93

"Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things."-- 11/30/96

"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."

"The future will be better tomorrow."

"We're going to have the best-educated American people in the world."-- 9/21/97

"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."-- 8/17/93

"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a *part* of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a *part* of Europe."

-- Vice President Al Gore

"I am not part of the problem. I am a Democrat."

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."

"Illegitimacy is something we should talk about in terms of not having it."--5/20/1996

"Democrats understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child."

"Welcome to President Clinton, Mrs. Clinton, and my fellow astronauts."

"Mars is essentially in the same orbit... Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe."

im 28. i don't spend my time researching this stuff. i just go on what i see in day to day life. unemployment may look like its lower than 10 years ago but what about all the people who don't get counted? who knows what the numbers would be like if an accurate count was taken.

all i know is i don't see people spending like they used to. this is a pointless discussion though because people will never be able to lose their bias towards whatever party they feel is 'right'.

You are responsible for you!
in my opinion you can't count people in our business. its far different from the average worker who relies on quarterly profits of the company they work for to keep their jobs.
