AVS or own CC account?

I'm just wondering if it's better to use an AVS for my next site or to set up a merchant account (CCbill, Globill etc)?
I'd prefer to use Paypal - but can't figure out how to sort out password issuing etc...
Any preferences? Reasons?

This can't be answered in this way.

There's a big difference between building an AVS site and running a pay site. You should probably learn the difference first...

Submit it to an avs and if it does well, then invest in a billing company, why spend more than you should. Play it safe then grow.

You obviously don't know the difference if you don't know the naiveness in that statement.

Pretty big difference

AVS = billing taken care of you and you either get a cut or a one time fee and the sites are usally free depending on the avs program

Paysite = with your own billing company you take it all and you pay to access it

Ya, but it's the 'ad per pic ratio' rules that put me off AVS in the past

Don't stress Kat, if you are not a banner farm and you have at least 10 pics. I'll except you. Come on in I prefer about 30, but I judge every site very liberally

Kat,
If you have enough content, make a paysite. Then make a half dozen platinum avs sites to upsell your pay site. That's what I did and it works well together.

Another idea..

You make galleries which up sell Regular AVS sites.. Whether AC, AV, CA, NV or one of the many others that are around these days but AdultCheck have just opened http://www.acfree.com The idea is they host galleries with their content and you then have banners that link to your Regular and Gold sites.

Then your Regular AVS sites up sell your Premium sites.. Which in turn up sell your own pay site..

So: Gallery ---> Regular AVS ---> Premium AVS ---> Pay site

You can make as many galleries as possible all optimised for SE's and get them on TGP's or links lists as well..Also.. You should have at least 10 Regular AVS sites for every Premium site .. I have 23 Regular sites at AC and they all upsell my 4 Gold sites specially on the tour and I find that a lot of surfers then have a look at the Gold sites and sign up there instead of the Regular..

Just my UK 2 pence worth
