Is it ok to delete the log files?

It's been about 2 days and my host hasn't done anything although the log files are taking up 80% of my disk space. I can't upload anything because of it.

How big is your space, and the log files?

It's been 2 days since I notified my host. I have about 200mb and I only have about 10mb or so uploaded.

Most likely that its a stupid question...

May I suggest a new host? How much are you paying for 200 megs man? Seems like you shouldn't even have to worry about the size of your logs, I never have, this is new to me.

My previous hosting experiences, log files did not count towards your alloted disk space...

Hrm, didn't know hosts counted logfiles as part of your quota.. strange.

The way we do it, is we're responsible for logfile management. We make the files available for you (up to a month of gzip'ed data), but we also rotate and zip stuff up automagically. If we fuck up, and forget or something to add a customer to rotation, we take the hit on the 2GB of space if we let it go for a few days, or whatever.
