Is it ok to delete the log files?

It's been about 2 days and my host hasn't done anything although the log files are taking up 80% of my disk space. I can't upload anything because of it.

I have never encountered this prob.

How big is your space, and the log files?

2 days and your logs take up 80% of your space? What kinda hosting did you pick? 5 megs of space? lol

uhh, you have over 250 posts to GFY, and you ask that kinda question? weird.

It's been 2 days since I notified my host. I have about 200mb and I only have about 10mb or so uploaded.

What the fuck are you trying to say? Fuck you.

Most likely that its a stupid question...

May I suggest a new host? How much are you paying for 200 megs man? Seems like you shouldn't even have to worry about the size of your logs, I never have, this is new to me.

My previous hosting experiences, log files did not count towards your alloted disk space...

Hrm, didn't know hosts counted logfiles as part of your quota.. strange.

The way we do it, is we're responsible for logfile management. We make the files available for you (up to a month of gzip'ed data), but we also rotate and zip stuff up automagically. If we fuck up, and forget or something to add a customer to rotation, we take the hit on the 2GB of space if we let it go for a few days, or whatever. :)
