Im watching the BBC - nothing yet - its been 10 mins, Im sure it would have been mentioned by now?

I could have been something more local to me, but it sounded distant, a really deep thud.

Havent found anything yet.. I think if it was something big Sky News would have jumped in.. they normally do before the bbc, as the bbc are more worried about getting facts wrong etc... (I remember this from the blasts last year).

I really hope it is nothing major!

Everyone here on Thamesmead talks about the day they bombed Canary Warf. Even this far away the windows shook so much they broke..you can see it from our balconies but that is still far away to feel it that strong.

You would think there are enough media in the hackney area to be on the case if it was that bad.

Were you in London when there was the Earthquake in Dudley? I was awake and felt everything shift..very odd as you wouldn't expect it in the UK.

Amazingly I still think these people are better than a lot of other people that want to run the country. But yeah, it must be a bit more relaxing not living in the place that is going to get hit the most.

Cant have been anything to worry about....

The Canary Wharf bomb was the one I heard - I was working at The Royal London in A&E at the time - Not what you want to hear, especially as I was doing an agency shift and I didnt know the setup at all. In the end we didnt have many casualties, thank god.

Don't get me wrong - I don't like any of the parties.. ones as bad the other, they all lie and manipulate.. Maybe it is because I am getting older I am paying more attention and getting more angry about this kind of stuff.. I dunno

'a bit' is a huge understatement... we are worlds apart

Although selafield is on my doorstep, which is a pretty big target... Scares the shit out of me, but is far less likely to happen than a train, plain or financial center.

As I grow older, I start thinking of maybe moving to the kent coast or something at somepoint. However, London has such a hold over me. I like being around everything I might ever need, etc.

My ex was from a little place just outside maidstone, we went to visit her family down their a few years back, it was lovely.. I still get accused of having a southern accent by locals up here because I spent so much time with her... Southerners still think I sound like a northerner.. Have you picked up a london accent?

What do you mean by 'everything you might need'? I have spent quite a bit of time in london, and can't think of anything I would miss? We must have very different life styles ;)

I grew up in 10 acres of woods where the nearest thing was a bait shop and that was three miles away. So, I like knowing any band I might ever want to see will eventually come to London and that sort of thing. Plus, I don't drive so the public transport is perfect for me (people slam it too much). I don't have any sort of UK accent at all but I do use British turns of phrase. Which is enough to make my family giggle.

Ah.. The music thing... At the moment, I have to manchester for any half decent band, although I don't do it very often at all.. Actually, the last gig I went to was in london.. brixton in fact..

I am one of the people who slams public transport around here, but it's better in big cities.. I really have no problems with the tube etc.. etc I have a habbit of getting confused because I don't know my way around so well.. it's all a learning tho curve I suppose.. I am am a country bloke not used to the big city... I get lost and confused very easily.. dreading next year when I start flying to the US for the shows!!

I am suprised you havent picked up a little accent, it is very addictive.. I use double negs all the time, which really pissed off my friends and family.. and some of the things I sometimes come out with when talking to my server tech in Ohio really have him baffled..

Can you decode cockney rhyming slang yet guvnor?

Ah.. The music thing... At the moment, I have to go to manchest for any half decent band, although I don't do it very often at all.. Actually, the last gig I went to was in london.. brixton.. And that was almost two years ago (how sad is that?) I don't have my license yet either, I am learning now.. hopefully life will be much better when I can travel without needing other people to drive me around.

Strangs how british people have sayings that americans don't, but not the other way around, I suppose it is because we get so many US sitcoms..

One that really bugs me is 'I Could Care Less'... one of my personal peeves' hehe.

Both sides have sayings the other doesn't. I will admit to saying 'I could care less' but everytime I say it I think about how it doesn't make sense. Whenn I first moved to the UK the over usage of 'at the end of the day...' drove me nuts.

I can get most rhyming slang..though a lot of times when people use it today they are just trying to come off as quirky.

Another one I hate is 'basically' in front of everything they say... as if they think your slow or something

If you have a spare moment, please hit me up some time - it would be nice to have a quick chat some time..

I never go to places like Starbucks. However, I am generally a city person and when I was growing up in the middle of nowhere I hated it. I like the buzz and having access to every type of culture you could want and stuff like that. I live in a suburb of London and I have my doctor across the street, shops there as well, the train station into central London a three minute walk away and a ton of bus routes at my door. Compared to the bait shop three miles away that feels really nice.
