Apparantly he was driving while under the influence of alcohol, which as you may or may not know is against the laws governing the State of California.

Yeah, Mel Gibson, hes an actor. I guess he was in a bunch of those moving picture shows that all the kids are talking about. I don't see anything about it on CNN. If Mel Gibson (One of the finest Actor/Directors of our time) was stopped for operating a heavy machine like an automobile in a reckless fashion it would be all over the news.

Yeah, they're still trying to keep it quiet. It's kind of like the O.J. Simpson thing a few months back, apparantly he killed someone but they did a really good job of keeping it quiet and not many people know about it.
